A soft jingle was heard from the bells on the door to Sonyo's medical office as the woman entered to begin business for the day. No one was here yet and Belamos and the girls were off training for the morning so she was left to open the practice in peace. She let out a soft sigh, one of contentment, before moving to the front desk and beginning to look through the stack of charts she had pulled out the night prior. When she was in Estia, and not somewhere out in the world, she ran her own small general practice. Mostly she saw sprained and rolled ankles, splinters, and the odd pulled muscle. She had a couple of scheduled appointments for the day, but they werent in till much later which left her with much to do in the meantime.

Once getting her charts ready for the day, Sonyo got up from the receptionist's desk which laid in front of the double front doors and small waiting room. She looked it over for a second, several chairs were placed around the one free corner, and a table with reading material laid smack dab in the middle. Many plants decorated the seating area. Sonyo smiled softly, tying her hair back before making her way to a small room off to the side. Inside held many trays of tools soaking in chemicals that would sterilize them. She snapped on some gloves, and started removing them from their bath.

As she scrubbed, she hummed softly. Each tool needed to be completely cleaned and then rinsed before placed in packs and put away. The song she hummed was a lullaby her father used to sing her from way back in the day. She missed him, and wished she was close enough to the girls to sing it to them. Of course, they were much too old now, and she was sure that it would be crossing the line with Aurelia. She finished scrubbing the tools and placed each one softly on a soft blue cloth beside the sink she rinsed them in. Sometimes, the distance that existed between her and Belamos' daughters made her miss Taylor so bad it physically hurt.

Sonyo sighed, putting down the tool she was working on and supporting herself on the counter, closing her eyes. Taylor's birthday was today, so it was harder on her than normal to keep her soul 'bright'. It was dark and stormy and rough like the ocean before a disaster. She missed her adopted son every day, but his birthday was always worse. The young woman opened her eyes, a sad smile on her face as she picked the tool back up and began working on it again, humming in a soft and melancholy tone another song-- "Happy Birthday". She finished the song and the last tool, placing it down on the pad. "Happy birthday, my boy... I hope Zhi is making you happy..." She shoveled the tools in to their sanitary packs with shaky hands before moving back to the reception desk to try and chase the memories away.

Being next to the plants by the reception's desk helped lift her spirits, if only by a little. She sat down and began writing about the procedures from the previous day. She had one wart removal for an older woman who moved here with her four children. Sonyo remembered them well, she had brought them apple-cinnamon pie when they moved in and Belamos had trimmed their shrubs for them last month. The young woman's face flushed lightly, remembering watching the demi-god from the family's livingroom window. She had been glad, and continued to be glad, that the male hadn't seen her slack-jawed watching him. Sonyo cleared her throat and jotted down the last few notes before shoving the charts away for the time being.

Sonyo settled in to Arashi's academy with several books in her arms; some of them were technique books, a few of them were medical journals, and some were the latest and greatest in hitting things. She started with the medical journals first, pouring over all that Arashigakure had found. Some of these books had excerpts from Kagerou's findings and Sonyo couldn't help but let out a small chuckle knowing her friend was so sought after in the medical world. She always felt five steps behind the fellow doctor, but it was okay because it was Kagerou and nothing was a race between them. A particular study on how temperatures affected cellular regeneration caught her attention for a moment. Apparently a Hojo's skin samples had been used? There was something about wrestling and unwilling tentacle that caused Sonyo to raise an eyebrow.

Putting down the medical journals, Sonyo moved on to the few books about recent taijutsu techniques and the difference noted between different land's taijutsu. Konoha's old style was about speed and reflex, Kiri's had been about flowing with the motions, Kumo's had been about pure speed above anything else... Sonyo sighed softly, looking at the names of the villages that were either no more or out of her grasp. She had always wanted to go to Kumogakure, but had never gotten the chance before it fell under imperial rule. She knew that Arashigakure was also under the control of the emperor but for the most part it seemed to be independent unlike the city proper. She wondered what kind of people the imperial royal couple was like. She had heard stories but stories were rarely ever completely true.

Sonyo took a moment to place the books down and rest her eyes, messaging her temples softly. She was exhausted, but war was approaching and she had a.. date? The young woman stopped messaging her temples, her eyes snapping open wide as she came to the conclusion that she hadn´t only agreed to a tour around the village but a date. A whole date. Was she ready for dating? What if she ruined the whole night? She forced herself to stop and take a few deep breaths, thinking about the calming cold of Yukigakure. Maybe Belamos wouldn't realize is was a date... that was possible, right?

Sonyo sat carefully at Oasis, rummaging through several books. It was how she got her mind off of certain things, like crushing the heart of someone you love. It was relaxing, and it seemed like she hardly had time to study now. Each book was carefully flipped through, copies of jutsu she had been given by Lahlil.

She would have to give Lahlil a visit soon, that was for sure. The last time she had talked to or seen the woman, she was the newly appointed hokage. Fresh and glimmering and new. What had changed in her time from the freshly created village?
