Colton had spent the afternoon setting up a nice meal for their picnic dinner. Why a picnic? Because their three year old just loved picnics. Plus it was a good way to get some sunshine. Colton watched a moment as Kenzie laid out the blanket, the woman hugging their little baby close. The man turned back into the house and scooped up the toddler. "Hey, Charley-Bug! Are you excited to picnic with mama and baby Edie? It'll be lots of fun!" He grinned, smooching the little girl's cheeks as he carried her outside.
Once outside he carefully set down his daughter, then plopped to a sit beside his wife. "He still asleep? He's been pretty good about sleeping, thank goodness. Also I brought his little sun hat if it starts bothering him." He offered the tiny hat from his pocket, kissed Kenzie on the cheek, then pushed himself to a stand to grab both his camera and start bringing out food for their dinner. He gathered everything onto a tray and carried it out, placing it on the blanket. "Ah food. The best." He grinned, grabbing a sandwich and taking a bite.

“Yeah, ahaha!” could be heard from inside the house. Mackenzie looked up towards the patio to see Colton carrying out their giggling three year old. “We’re having a picnic!” she cheered as Colton set her down, and immediately made her way over to play in the potted plants. “Charlotte, don’t get dirty! We’re about to eat,” Mackenzie warned. Briefly, the mother wondered about whether or not she was as restless as her daughter when she was her age. They say the apple never falls far from the tree for a reason. Then again, her obsession with playing in the dirt probably came from Colton’s family as they were much bigger nature lovers than Kenzie was. When Colton asked if Edison was still asleep, she nodded. “Oh, thank you,” she responded, freeing one hand to use it to put their baby’s hat on his itty bitty head. Baby clothing was just so cute. The witch smiled when her husband kissed her. When he came out with the tray of food, Charlotte ran back over to the picnic blanket and started drinking from her cup of lemonade. She always got to drink lemonade on special dinner nights. “Thanks for making dinner,” Kenzie said before Char had also chimed in. “Thank you, daddy!”
