Opening at noon and closing in the early morning just as the sun rises, the modestly popular Sagiso Playhouse is an epicenter of performing arts talents, with a cast and staff that excel in acting, music, dance, and nearly any other art under the sun. The playhouse serves drinks in the afternoon and evening, plays in the evening, and private entertainment all throughout the night. They will also take requests in advance to entertain clients at their location of choice. For the public, the playhouse strictly performs only plays in order to live up to its name. Though, even then, they will rotate through practically every sort of play under the sun, from puppet shows to kabuki to opera. Clients who request private performances, on the other hand, can request any type of entertainment, such as dance or music, from the insanely talented staff.
Located in the middle of Konoha's bustling urban life, the playhouse is a large, three story building that can divided into a main central area that juts forward and two wings that hang in the back. Those wishing to buy tickets can do so outside of the playhouse at the ticket window, while those wishing to arrange private accommodations should go inside and ask one of the cafe servers to meet someone who can assist them with the proper arrangements.
Upon entering, the visitor is greeted with the quaint atmosphere of a small cafe on one side and lively displays of various masks, costumes, and props on the other. Light snacks, and drinks are served at the cafe, with a different menu for the afternoon and evening. The food is good but not stellar, the bizarrely wide variety of tea is fantastically amazing, there are a few eccentric alcoholic drinks on the menu that will make even a connoisseur smile, and the prices are reasonable. All in all, for an establishment that is a subsidiary of the main attraction, plays, it does well and is a popular pre- or post-play meeting spot for the audience. The second floor above the front area that is the cafe and mini-museum combination is where private client meetings are held to make arrangements. The third floor above that is the VIP lounge.
Walking straight in between the small museum and the cafe takes the visitor to a set of three double doors in the back that all lead to the main central theater. The door in the middle is for staff only. The door to the right is for the first level of the theater. The door to the left is for the second level. The third level balconies have a separate VIP entrance they are escorted to. Plays of all types are hosted daily in the main theater, with usually one or two performances being held each day, starting from late afternoon and ending at around midnight. Seating in the theater is tiered and the stage is the standard rectangular stage.
The entire area behind the theater, including the wings and all three floors, is dedicated to back stage preparation and offices.
The second and third floors of the two wings of the playhouse hold exclusive rooms with small stages on their second and third floors. Customers, if they so desire, can request the peace and quiet of a private performance in these rooms. Performances in these rooms are much more flexible, in both time and content. There are limits even here, of course. These rooms may only be rented out until morning of the next day and the performer will always have the right to say no, with the playhouse backing the performer's decision.
Little is known about the proprietor of the Sagiso Playhouse. They are known to be from the Water Country, evidenced by the majority of the staff, including their representative, who come from the same nation. Beneath the surface, the Sagiso Playhouse is a small part of the Kiritani clan's conglomerate-level information web. It was established in Konohagakure by Kagerou on the not completely untrue pretense that she wanted to create jobs for disenfranchised victims of the conflicts that wrack her native nation.
