Name: Pr'gal (Peregal)
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Nameday: 3557.02.17
Sexual Orientation: Not really concerned, but straight by inclination.
Weyr: Western Weyr
Rider Rank: Wingrider
Previous Rank/Craft: Weyrbrat

Physical Description: Pr'gal has always thought his arms were too long for his body and his hands oversized. Yes, that makes it easy to reach for and pick up things, but it also got him teased a bit growing up. Fortunately, he's starting to even out. A growth spurt finally sen him a couple inches over six feet. His dark ginger hair is thick with a not so subtle wave that he wears pulled back into a tail almost all the time. Grey blue eyes are usually alight with laughter, if you can find them behind his unfairly lush eyelashes. He's pretty heavily freckled, visible even through, or maybe because of, his tan. Both of his ears have been pierced, once, with suble golden hoops.

Personality: Pr'gal likes people, okay? He's very social and is not at all shy about introducing himself to strangers or finding the wallflower in the room and sitting down for a chat. That's not to say that he needs to be entertained at all times. Far from it. Pr'gal is more than capable of filling the candlemarks of a day with various acitivities, whether those are assignments, chores, or simply self-guided exploration.

In other words, he *likes* people and company, but he doesn't require them. He certainly wouldn't be happy or thriving if he was forced to live alone, but he can manage hours at a time without interaction. He's very independent.
This doesn't mean he's a rule breaker. He will not go out of his way to cause a problem, though he doesn't mind indulging in the occaional bit of mischief.

If he is upset, which doesn't happen all that often but isn't impossible, either, he is more likely to retreat, regroup and then come back to talk things out tnan he is to get confrontational and start swinging. He has his limits and lines that he prefers not to cross, but he's got a very long, slow-burning fuse.

He can be very physically affectionate, if given permission, but he has no desire to force anyone into anything uncomfortable. He is a good secret keeper, but not a gossip. He can be relied on to have a friend's back or to shield them if need be, but he certainly won't be the first one into the fray.

Positive Trait List friendly, companionable, independent
Negative Trait List reclusive, independent, pushover

History: Peregal was born in Western to a pair of very busy riders who, though they chose not to have an army of littles trying to topple off their ledge, still participated in their childrens' lives and made sure they knew they were loved. As a result, he is a friendly, outgoing, loves-a-crowd sort of guy.

While he hoped that one day he might ride a dragon like his parents, he didn't pin all of his hopes on that outcome. He didn't, though, decide on anyone craft to aspire to that filled his time, either. Instead, between Candidate chores, Peregal was only too happy to continue to help out around the WEyr. He's quite a good handyman, really, and has neither a fear of heights nor of bugs, so he's equally good on a ladder and in the darkest corner of a neglected storeroom.

At the Hatching where he found Golabeth -- or rather, Golabeth found him -- he was so caught up in watching pairings happen around him, so happy for his classmates, that he nearly missed his own Impression. Not that he could *really* have overlooked Golabeth's insistant new presence in his mind, but it did take the dragon getting rather loud and rather close to impress upon the young man -- ha ha! -- that this was Serious Business and they were now partners for life.

An arrangement happily and apologetically accepted. An arrangement neither would trade for anythhing.

Other: Mostly raised in the creche, he has siblings he knows about/who know him, and they do consider one another family. Want to play one? HMU.

DRAGON
Name: Golabeth
Thme/Inspiration: Big Cats - European Wild Cat
Color: Bronze

Personality If Pr'gal is easy to push around, then Golabeth is probably the one doing the pushing. Not a bossy dragon, at least with anyone else, Golabeth has very particular wants and needs, thoughts and opinions, and it is Peregal's job -- no, obligation -- to see that they're met.

Golabeth is not cruel. In fact the dragon can sometimes come across as a little smothering. Making sure that friends, yes, but clutchmates in particular, are comfortable and happy and well-cared for are just the sort of things that make Golabeth content.

That said, attitudes of all sorts frustrate the dragon. Snippy dragons and lazy dragons alike will no doubt find themselves on the sharp end of this dragon's tongue.

Golabeth is a hoarder or sorts, just for the record, always on the look out for the most outstanding and unusual object. Got a new fancy pair of boots. Look out, Golabeth might claim them.

Size: Medium - 80'
Physical Attributes: Golabeth is a little on the "fluffy" side, in that there's a little extra weight on them. Not a fat dragon, certainly, just comfortably padded.

Additional Notes: When it comes to flights, Golabeth will enthusiastically engage. After all, what could be better than attention and a happy ending? If successful in catching, the dragon should be expected to be treated like Pern's most precious while in his combany. If he successfully finds a long-term mate, he will be supportive, doting, and perhaps irritatingly possessive.

Why Me: Why did this dragon pick out the above Candidate? What do they give one another? Golabeth chose Peregal because he needed some guidance and direction. Being willing to do "whatever" is all well and good and certainly handy and helpful at times, but sometimes you need a goal and a purpse in life. Golabeth has lots of ideas about that. For his part, Pr'gal helps to satisfy Golabeth's more controlling nature, to offer some peace and comfort and reassurance that, even without a specific outcome in mind, the world will keep on turning and life is fine.

How did your character behave during Weyrling Training? Pergal (or P'gal, I guess) was an enththusiastic learner and generally upbeat. He was more than willing to help other classmates struggling with any of the lessons, if asked, and definitely lent an ear to frustrations or fears, etc.

What did your character think of so many twin dragons? What did your character think of having not one, but two, gold sister? He was shocked first and then delighted! He's been curiously watching those who Impressed twins, particularly the gold riders, to see whether they're going to go down the same sort of path or deliberately be as different and independent as they can.

How did your characters do during flying lessons and Between training? Were they naturals or did they struggle? Flying lessons were tricky at first, as Golabeth had a little trouble not being the most aerodynamic dragon on Pern. Between training, however, came so naturally that they were cautioned and then lectured about not getting cocky about it, lest they become object lessons for the next class.

How has your character been handling being graduated and a real dragon rider?

P'gal and Golabeth are pretty much loving life and really don't have a thing to complain about. Well. Not right now. Golabeth might find something. Huff!
