Worn out and dejected from a day of wandering the village in search of Kai (and nothing to show for it...), Himitsu trudged along quietly, hands in jacket pockets, hood up, head down. He'd been asking around everywhere from bars to the Hokage's Office. He hadn't been to KPD HQ in weeks, his usual food spots swore they hadn't seen him, and Sadayo implied he hadn't reported back from the "indefinite leave" he'd requested before the market incident. Himitsu was fine with giving his friend some space after everything that happened, but when he hadn't shown up to the recent assault on the Hokage's Office, the younger Uchiha had become worried. For today however, he was defeated, and headed home. But something caught his attention, stopping him in his tracks. "Isn't that Miki's butterfly thing?"
As he thought about it, he realized he hadn't seen Miki at the Hokage's Office either. In fact, in the nearly two months since the Market incident, the only time he'd seen Miki was when Chomei showed up in the village. Even then it was brief, as if she hadn't really wanted to deal with him. Maybe it was Matatabi's influence, or maybe he was just tired and emotional from a bad day. Either way he entered Miki's Butterfly Sanctuary to speak with her, already irritated. "You know, Kurama's pretty loud normally... The fact I haven't heard him whining much tells me she's probably suppressing him so you can't find her either. She's hiding from you." The demon had been terrorizing him all day, taking advantage of his bad mood. They'd been on better terms lately, but Matatabi still had a hard time finding the line between sarcasm and blatant antagonism. "She is not. Dodging me, maybe. But she's not hiding"
The door clicked behind him as he stepped into Miki's sanctuary. "Miki? Hello? It's Himi. You here?" Himitsu wandered around, dodging stray butterflies and weaving around enclosures. A few times he narrowly avoided knocking something over , or squishing a particularly slow-to-move bug. Eventually he spotted Miki and scoffed, approaching her with a look of exasperation. "Hey! The hell, you didn't hear me calling when I came in? I nearly died just trying to get back here."

Miki hadn't been having the best day. Kurama had started early on in the day with his constant negativity and degrading of Miki. She wished he would at least have the courtesy of letting her sleep in before telling how terrible she was. Miki did the only thing she ever really could do when Kurama was acting this way, take care of her sanctuary. She found that the peacefullness of the miniature forest always helped her suppress Kurama's voice. Instead she could focus on creating a paradise for her favorite creatures. When Himitsu found her, she would be watering some flowers that the butterflies liked to gather around. The peaceful moment Miki found herself in came crashing to a sudden halt at the man's appearance.
The woman scoffed at Himitsu's introduction. It was rather rude for someone who just walked into her home uninvited. "Hello to you too Himitsu." Miki would roll her eyes. "Ahhh Matatabi's here. I hope her jinchuriki burns this place to the ground. Look at him. You can tell something's got him ready to jump." Miki sighed to herself. Great and now he was back as if things weren't already bad enough. The woman would set her watering cannister on the ground and face her ex squadmate. "I'm sorry I didn't hear you. It's a big place. There's a bell at the front. Must have missed it." Miki was starting to feel particularly more mad at Himi for coming into her place the way he had. She had just finally managed to get Kurama to shut up and just like that he had caused all of that effort to go away. Miki wasn't sure if she would be able to keep his voice at bay this time. "Isn't it funny how they practically joined that girl Mina's squad without so much as saying a word to you.""Not how that works. Hokage decides our squads.""Hmm I wonder why she would leave you alone. It just makes you wonder." The two spat back and forth between each other. Kurama's tactics had become much more about making Miki feel as though the world hated her it seemed, but as much as she didn't want to admit it Kurama had a point.
Oblivious to his own attitude, Miki's frustrated tone irritated Himitsu. "Must've missed it like you missed the Hokage's Office..." The words shot from his mouth before his mind even processed them. His first thought was Matatabi, but he realized quickly it was just his own big mouth when she seemed surprised but amused. "Uhh, whatever, look I was just coming by to see if you'd seen Kai since... uh... well if you'd seen him lately." Even though it'd been some time since Kai fought them all in the marketplace, Himitsu still felt strange discussing the details about it, choosing to stumble over it instead when it's mentioned. "She seems thrilled you're here." It took all of Himi's focus not to physically respond to his demon in the moment. "Yeah I can see that." Matatabi giggled slightly and spoke again. "She probably just thinks she's above you now. Kurama tends to talk big about his strength, he's probably inflated her ego." This time, Matatabi nailed the sarcasm, her comments coated in it. With Himi already worn out and annoyed though, he missed it entirely and the idea rooted itself in his head.
Impatient, he began speaking when he thought Miki had finished, accidentally cutting her off slightly. Despite noticing his mistake, he chose to barrel on instead of apologizing and backing up to let her speak. "So you've got no clue either. Thanks, I'll just get out of your way mighty nine tails..." He rolled his eyes and started stepping backward before actually turning around. In the few inches he moved, his boot caught on something and made him stumble backwards slightly. "ShiiiiT! AHH!" In his attempts not to fall, Himitsu grabbed on to the closest thing available; a mesh chrysalis tent that was supposed from above nearby. Clearly it offered no support, and came down with the Uchiha, who landed directly on his recovered but still tender stab wound. Embarrassed, irritated, in pain, and tangled in the goopy, bug infested fabric, Himitsu lost his cool. "Gods... DAMN IT!" The young man threw his arms to the side and unleashed a quick flare of blue fire around himself, blasting the cocoon tent to ash in an instant. He sat there for a second breathing heavily in rage before he stood, listening to Matatabi speak. "Hohohohoho! She looks mad now. Kurama, you ready for this?" It wasn't until Himi realized his bijuu wasn't speaking to him in that excited tone that he actually looked back to see Miki's reaction.

Miki's eyes narrowed. 'Hokage's office? What the hell is he talking about? The day those villagers attacked?' Before Miki could question Himi about it, he had changed subjects already to Kai. In truth Miki hadn't seen Kai since the marketplace. It seemed like he just vanished without a trace. "No I haven't seen..." Miki was interuppted. "Now that's a Uchiha. Destined to kill a friend for his Mangekyou any day now. You better watch out, today might be the day." Kurama teased, laughing a twisted laugh in the back ground of Miki's thoughts. 'Might nine tails?' Miki thought she heard Himi said. What was this guys deal? She hardly had said a word to him and he was already set off.
The woman watched in horror as Himi took one bad step and managed to trip over taking out a chrysalis tent. That alone perhaps could have been forgiveable, but what Himi did next was not. "I can't believe you'd be so careless!" Miki shouted. She would blink her eyes, her purple irises being replaced with the black and red of the sharingan. As she shouted an orange chakra would begin to pour from her skin and cover her. "Looks like the boys done it. At least show Matatabi why I'm the stronger Bijuu if you're going to use my power." Kurama would say for all to hear in response to Matatabi. "Get the ******** out!" Miki would slam her foot against the ground resulting in a shockwave of dirt to begin from where her foot at hit the earth. Before long it would descend into the earth and for a moment everything would be quiet. From below a massive wooden stump would erect itself from the earth directly below Himi to send him flying out of the Sanctuary. He would break through the glass ceiling and land outside.
"Monarch!" Miki commanded. Not soon after an iridescent butterfly would descend and merge with Miki's back. The woman would then take off into the air after Himi only to land a short distance from where he would have. "You know Himi. I would have given you another chance if you had apologized the way you talked to me." Miki would crack her knuckles and her neck in swift motions. "But you had to come in and be a stereotype of our clan. The brooding Uchiha. It's a good thing I've been itching for a fight. Normally I'd abstain from using Kurama's power out of spite of him, but for you I'm going to make an exception since you wanna bring him into this." Kurama would laugh again. "You think it's just that easy huh? Just gonna take my power?" Miki would find herself in the field that contained Kurama's box. "Shut up Kurama. It's time to pay rent for living in my body." Miki's hand would reach up to his box, Kurama sneering at the young woman the entire time. With little effort Miki would tear some of the seals off Kuramas box, allowing more of his power to leak into her but at the same time she lost more control of him. On the outside of Miki's mind her entire body would burst into a rolling orange chakra while her skin began to peel away to reveal an red and black color beneath. "I won't ever let you disrespect me like that again!"
Miki would disappear from Himi's sight before reappearing directly before him. At her appearance she would attempt to grip Himi from behind his neck and slam her knee into his stomach be pulling him into it. If Miki were successful Himi would find himself paralyzed by the attack and thrown backward.

The look on Miki's face told Himitsu he'd seriously messed up before she did herself. Her sharingan spinning up was another good indicator. He scrambled to apologize as she began shouting, "Oh... s**t, Miki... Look, it's just-"
BAM!
The sudden jolting of the ground beneath him shook him to his knees, ultimately slamming his face into the stump when it shot from the earth. Himitsu's vision swam as he rose into the air, steadying just in time to crash through the ceiling. From the top of his fall, he pieced together what had happened, and finally balanced himself out to control his unwanted flight. The longer he fell, the angrier he became. "I admit I was a little out of line, but she didn't need to hit me. Right?!" Matatabi relished the situation and responded loudly, letting everyone in on her side of the conversation. "No, you're right, Himitsu, she is out of line."
Himi controlled his landing as he returned to earth outside the sanctuary, broken glass scattering from his clothing. He stood and dusted himself off as he noticed Miki fly out to meet him. She was furious, and violence was definitely on the table here. "Another-?" Miki continued on, comparing him to the typical Uchiha stereotype, and making it clear they weren't just going to talk this through. Her calling him out for being typical after she'd just hit him over a couple bugs ended up being his trigger. [ Fang and Claw Stance ] Flames erupted from his body as he widened his stance and shouted back. "Oh, ******** off! Our clan?! Last real fight I saw you in, you couldn't make an ember spark even if it could save your life! You're just an arrogant half-Senju playing pretend with those eyes!" Even in the moment, Himitsu knew he'd gone too far, but he wasn't going to back down now. Even as her chakra erupted so powerfully it nearly left spots in his sharingan's vision, he stood stubbornly, and made a demand of his own demon. "Juice me up now, or I publish a paper on how you lost to the kyuubi." Matatabi laughed and relented to her host, clearly eager for the coming exchange. "You could just ask nicely, you know. No need for the threats. Just remember, you wanted this."
The black and blue flames already surrounding him grew more intense and nearly opaque as the chakra that composed it grew stronger. It began to sting his own skin for once, but not like the heat of the flames itself, more like it were rubbing his skin raw. Despite the pain, his body bolstered itself, similar to how it did in his sage mode, but far more sinister. Miki moved so fast, he'd hardly had time to move. Himitsu surged Matatabi's chakra into his hands and slammed them into her incoming strike to counter it. "Say hi to Kai for me." Himitsu grumbled over the hushed, undecipherable whispers of his Spirit Fire. "Pfft. Right I'm the one out of line." Miki would reply back to Matatabi's taunt. Everything Himi had to say was things she already heard on a daily basis from Kurama. Those words no longer stung her the same way it used to. No instead she only used the words to empower her anger toward Himi. As she was countered by Kai, he would say something that would only result in Kurama's influence becoming stronger over her. "He killed Kai. He killed Kai. He Killed Kai!" Kurama's voice was at first almost a whisper until it was the only thing Miki could hear. Then everything went dark.
The woman reached around the cave, trying to find an exit as Kurama continued his chant. "ARGH! SHUT UP!" Miki released a guttural growl for everyone to here. She couldn't figure out what was going on with foxes annoying voice being the only thing she could focus on. Then the Kyuubi would do something unexpected. He would exert his influence over Miki's chakra system to wipe it clean of the genjutsu that was infecting her. [ Bijuu Kai | S Rank ] Miki's eyes moved around, confused for a moment until she saw Himi was in the air. "What did you do?""I still want you to beat the Matatabi girl." Miki would remain completely still. "Maybe I don't want this anymore. Maybe I'll let him hit me." She replied back to the Kurama out of spite. She never wanted what he did. Himi came closer. "Move girl!" Kurama commanded as Miki remained completely motionless.
Once Himi's leg was mere milliseconds of hitting Miki, Miki would disappear once again only to reappear directly behind Himi. Following her reappearance would be blast of demon chakra that would poison Himi with disease if he were affected. [ Quick Rush [ Hayai Yakushin ] | Rank D | Spiritual ] She would then extend her finger and thumb out to flick Himi in the back. "I'll kill you for whatever you did to Kai!" She'd yell as she would release a back draft that would cause the very Earth to rumble from the power. [ Devastating Strike [ Kaimetsu-tekina Sutoraiku ] | Rank S+ | Simple, Treated as spiritual ] Whether or not Miki were successful in the strike, she would use her wings to move backward away from the back draft. "You want to see some fire Himi!? I'll show you some fire?! NOTHING THAT BLUE CAT COULD HOPE TO COMPARE TO!" As Miki yelled, Kurama's own voice could be heard mixing in with her own. The woman would open her mouth before expelling a black ash around the entire field. The ash itself burned to the touch and prevented many sensory and dojutsu from operating correctly. [ Fire Release: Hiding in Fire Technique [ Katon: Haijingakure no Jutsu ] | Rank S+ ] Miki would then move her hand through the ash, creating 2 fire balls that would circle around her for a moment until she locked her eyes on Himitsu through the ash. Whether or not they hit Himitsu they would explode with a massive amount of force and fire.

Before launching, these fireballs form a circular pattern before the user and are launched and manipulated by somatic gestures within a fifty foot radius around the user per rank. Upon impact, these fireballs inflict tiered burns and burning on a target. For each successful contact made with a fireball, the target's burned status increases one tier. This technique requires an upkeep post of five chakra per fireball active. Those who are stricken with more than three fireballs have a genjutsu of the user's choosing placed upon them equal to the rank of this technique or lower. Each fireball requires the technique's rank in chakra to defend but requires only one activation per post to address no matter how many fireballs are present.

The boy coughed a couple times before he heard Miki directly behind him. From his new position, he relocated his target and readied a defense as she prepared her next attack. As a thick black smog erupted into the field, he finished his seals and extended his hands out to meet the smog. It swirled around him and sealed itself into his body, further eroding the skin and clothing around his body, exposing the entirety of his arms and the side of his torso. He dropped to all-fours and whipped his black and red tails above him, forming a massive Spirit Fire orb between them, and two smaller ones on the side. "Oh, so scary, fox girl. I see Kurama has been overstating his strengths." Matatabi's laughs began drowning out his thoughts, leaving the one clear idea in his mind, "What I did to Kai...?" The accusation quickly boiled over, and Himitsu let loose a roar from his feral position that blended his voice with the howl of a large cat, shredding away the last of the skin on his face. As the flames passed over the loose earth, burnt corpses clambered out to maul their target. The user moves in an instantaneous action, leaving a burst of flames spreading ten feet in width, masking their movement up to twenty feet away during combat when not fleeing. If used to flee a combat situation, the technique releases a twenty foot wave of flames and allows the user to escape to the next topic.
โฐ Sealing Technique Absorption Seal [ Fuujutsu Kyuuin ] | Rank X | Restricted [Used at S+] [-160 Chakra] [+160 Chakra] The user performs hand signs to activate this seal which they create on their hands. โฐ March of the Damned [ Norowa Reta Mฤchi ] | Rank S+ | Spiritual [-290 Chakra] Matatabi's jinchuuriki forms a handseal and looses a tiger roar before sending out a wave of blue flames before the fire spawns the ashen corpses of the souls claimed by Matatabi's nekomata spirit flames. There are twenty corpses covered in spirit flames that all assault the target(s) in unison. The corpses inflict fourth-tier burning for five posts on contact and explode in blue flames fifty feet outwards to cause the same effect when destroyed. These ghastly resurrected ash corpses also cause fourth-tier mental stress on sight.

[ Overwhelming Presence [ Attลtekina Sonzai-kan ] | A Rank | Genjutsu ] Once her roar was complete, Miki's maw would turn upward into the sky before releasing a large flame that appeared it would take out here entire sanctuary had it been directed toward it. Instead it went into the very sky. For a moment all would be still before the clouds would begin to hail massive fireballs from the sky, all carrying a massive explosive force with it. Each of the fireballs were clearly indicated to hit Himitsu. [ Great Fireball Shower Technique [ Gลka Hitoame no Jutsu ] | Rank S+ ] The girl would then wait to see what Himitsu's response would be, at this point being a shell of herself. Her entire appearance would be covered by the black and red chakra, some of it dripping off her body and onto the earth. Each drop would sizzle before creating little patches of fire in each spot the chakra would drop.

This technique can alternatively be used at S+ Rank to produce fourteen fireballs and their sizes and burning radius are doubled. Kurama's taunt echoed in Himitsu's head as he watched Miki let out an ear-splitting roar. Himitsu caught traces of chakra lacing the air around them, and pieced together what she'd done as a sense of inadequacy tickled his mind. Matatabi arrogantly sneered back telepathically at the opposing duo. Miki's follow up caused Himi to pause and let her have her distance, in case she turned her skyward fire geyser on him directly instead. When it became clear the initial blast wasn't the actual threat, Himi braced himself before his counter, gathering chakra. When it was collected, Himitsu clapped his hands together and spat out a massive black and blue blast of flames into the sky, the radiant heat scorching off his remaining tatters of clothing. The fireball quickly collided with the closest of Miki's fire, the collision creating massive explosion midair. The two flames quickly consumed the other meteors, blocking out the sky around them for a couple hundred feet with black, blue, and orange flames and smoke. Loud, intense whispers filled the air around them for a moment before fading into silence again.
Wisps of flame and stray embers drifted down around them. Those landing near Himitsu smoldering and flickered more and more as he gathered chakra again. Soon even the tiniest of embers had become their own small flames that jumped and skittered toward Himitsu. A moment later, Spirit Fire exploded out from his body and began spreading up into a large form as Matatabi let out a laugh. "We are fear." The target will lose touch with reality for the post that the are trapped in this genjutsu allowing for further genjutsu to affect them more easily. As a result, the user experiences third tier insanity. Additionally, the caster's attacks are made invisible and hidden by this technique, leaving the target vulnerable.

Miki let out a laugh as her own genjutsu was turned on her, knowing the technique Himi used only made it that much easier for her to tell. "You forget to easy I hold the power of the Uchiha." She would say in a demonic voice as she reversed the illusion once again back onto Himi using the very same technique. "You should be afraid." She would continue before she laid eyes onto the form that came from Himi's body. Although how terrifying the creature seemed to be in it's form, Miki held her ground looking into the creatures eyes.
As their eyes locked, something manifested in the flames of the creature. Kai. "Kai!" The girl shouted, seeing the neko's flames surrounding his entire body. At first Kai did nothing before he started screaming. It was even more clear to Miki that Himi was in fact the one that killed Kai. Afterall, he had been claimed by Matatabi's flame. Miki couldn't help but feel a sudden sense of dread as she realized that Himi was here to kill her as well. She just wasn't clear as to why Himi had shown up to ask her about his disappearance if he knew all along. Perhaps to feign innocence before showing off who he truly was. "If Kai's in Matatabi's flames, it means Himi and Matatabi here killed him." Kurama would say for all to hear, confirming Miki's own thoughts. Between the confusion and dread she was feeling about Kai's appearance, she didn't notice the large creature advancing on her. "Move girl!" Kurama would warn too late as Miki was struck by Matatabi's attack. The girl would let out a cry as she was thrown back ward, her body skipping against the ground before she would suddenly slam into the Sanctuary. Miki would be stuck in the wall for a moment before she would drop to the ground. "Argh! I can't believe you'd do that to Kai!" She'd shout from her position laying on the ground. Her hands would grip into the dirt as she slowly pushed herself up. As she did so, blood would drip from her abodomen while steam began to surround her body. It was clear the steam was coming from her body healing the attack she had just received. Though the wound continued to bleed, dripping from her body. The wound was just too much for Kurama to heal on his own.
Miki managed to push herself into a standing position, though she struggled to remain standing. "Enough!" Miki would suddenly ascend into the sky. "I will not let you kill me too!" She would say as she stopped and merely floated. The woman would then place her hands in front of her, a small ball of flame appearing in between each of her hands. "You will know power. You will know fear. You will know death!" Kurama's own chakra began to flood into the ball of flame, creating a much larger amalgamation of flame. The girl would then release the flame. As she did so, the chakra sphere would propel itself directly at Himitsu. From the sky tornadoes of flame would appear, crashing down on the entire area and the earth would begin to shake. As the chaos escalated and unfolded around them, Himitsu watched Miki carefully but failed to notice a sense of dread creeping in once again. Kurama's voice rang out in his head, causing Himi to shake his head for a moment. "Morons." The intense chakra surrounding him and the excitement of Matatabi made it harder and harder for him concentrate. Processing his own thoughts became a tertiary objective for his brain, behind not dying, and hitting back hard. But the seeds he'd planted earlier were sprouting results now. Miki was being pushed out of her element, with her demon either fooled as well or simply working against his own host. Either one was fine for Himi/Matatabi.
Himi's dread lessened when he watched the massive Nekomata he'd created plow through his opponent and send her tumbling into the building she'd launched him from just minutes before. But when she stood from the resulting wreckage, fuming, steaming, and... bleeding... It rushed back in, rooting him in place. His anger faltered, and fear for Miki as well as himself replaced it. Once again she mentioned Himi killing Kai, but the boy knew this time it was his own fault. As the woman threatened him, Himi's shoulders slumped and he leaned away slightly from the destructive sight before him. Suddenly he wasn't sure which of them had fallen to their demon more, and he tried desperately to focus on his own thoughts again, pulling back from Matatabi's influence. His life, and possibly a chunk of the village, were on the line now all because he'd had a bad day and couldn't contain his temper. Miki might've hit first, but this was on him. First he directed his flaming nekomata toward the blast, letting it pounce on the orb and tear away its edges before the blue cat was burned away. It'd done far less than the boy had hoped, but it at least seemed to slow the descent and charge up a little bit. While the massive attack continued its progression, Himi's hope faded, and thoughts of various escape methods flooded his mind. A sudden snarl ripped through his mind and halted his thinking immediately. "We will not run from the fox! Harness my chakra like before, but hold onto it. Hold it until I say otherwise. Do it!" Too afraid not to listen, and trusting the beast not to intentionally kill them both, Himi squatted low on all fours and charged up an immense amount of chakra in front of him. A strange sensation in his stomach forced his mouth open, causing the the chakra to collect into a dark, dense orb in front of him. Panic began to set in the longer he charged up, and the closer Miki's assault came. Just as the heat from the flames above began to beat down on him, Matatabi gave him the order. "Now." The black and blue ball of concentrated chakra blasted from the jinchuuriki's mouth and shot up into the sky to meet Miki's attack.

Was every Uchiha always so damn dramatic? A blur of red flame sped in between the two fighters, glistening like a crimson comet Just as the two attacks would have collided, they were instead directed straight upwards into the sky. [Counter Force x2 S+ Overwhelming] The resulting shockwave was massive, enough to shake the very ground and seemingly threaten to open the gates to Hell. [Explosion x2 S+ Overwhelming, meant to separate MIki and Himitsu] Hopefully the blast would prove non-fatal to the two Jinchuriki, but still be enough of a shock to get them to calm down. Nearly an instant later, two figures moved from the cloud of smoke caused by the massive release of energy. Each would rush towards the two Uchiha and attempt to knock them to the ground and restrain them in an instant. โThis fight is over!โ A voice shouted from the smoke. As the cloud dispersed, it would reveal Mina standing directly in the center of Miki and Himi. Her arms, while crossed, were covered in burns and cuts and bruises that had begun to form already. The two blurry figures would simultaneously be revealed as Shadows clones of Mina. Each of them looked different, as her white coat had been tossed aside, showing the two Uchiha a pattern on Minaโs body. Interconnecting symbols for โfireโ traced their way up her body, covering most of her face. Her eyes, slit like a catโs, burned gold and purple as she glared at the two Chunin. Her Curse Mark receded after a few seconds and Mina felt a sudden wave of exhaustion hit her. She was out of practice with her gift, and sheโd used up a lot of its energy to just redirect the two attacks. She thought for a moment that, if they really wanted to, Miki and Himi could kill her in a flash.
But she tried not to let it get to her. The red haired Jonin stood in silence for a few seconds as she waited for the dust to settle. โWhat the hell do you two think youโre doing?!โ She eventually asked, her tone stern. Like a mother that caught her kids fightingโฆ which wasnโt too far off. โThe two of you hold some of the greatest power in shinobi history, and youโre using it to kill each other?!โ She uncrossed her arms, a movement that made Mina realize that if the wind blew too hard, the bones might break. โYour duties are to protect the village, not turn it to ashes!โ Mina turned her gaze pointedly to the ignited battlefield around them, in a way that would lead Miki and Himi to do the same once her clones gave them just enough freedom to do so. โNot for a like of trying, it looks like.โ
Mina took a slow breath, to calm herself down and to try and tune out the pain in her arms. The pain made her arms shake and she had to grip one tightly in order to keep it from showing. โWerenโt you two on the same team?โ She asked, the anger fading from her voice as her face softened. While she'd never met Team Kai when they were a unit, personally, these two had still been the students of her friend. Seeing, potentially, the ramifications of The Poisoner's attack made the young woman's heart twist. โYouโre supposed to be comrades. I know Kai taught you all better than this.โ

Just as the two attacks almost destroyed the entire area, they would be redirected into the sky by an unknown person. Only unknown due to the current state of near unconciousness Miki had been. At that moment it felt almost as though she was trapped in her own mind while her body acted. The girl would have never used an attack of such magnitude in such a populated area. It was that damned Kurama. She could be a hothead, but he only made that so much worse for her. Thankfully someone was there and whoever it was, Miki supposed she owed a lot to them. Before even her current form could react, the girl's form was shoved into the earth itself from a shockwave. Miki's body would produce a crator even. Not moments after was she already being restrained by Mina, now seeing who stopped them.
Mina immediately began lecturing the two, something Miki knew she deserved. Hell she deserved worse for allowing herself to lose control like that. Not that she could even attempt to refute the woman at the moment. Miki was too focused on the pain that was now wracking through her body. The woman's entire body began steaming as it began the process of healing the skin that had tore away off her body. We were on a team... That was until he killed Kai..." Miki would cough at the end of her words, blood trickling down the side of her mouth. He came to my home. Killed my butterflies and showed me that he killed Kai..." The girl tried her best to get her words out, struggly to remain concious. He...He killed him Mina..."

Although he'd been watching for hte collision, he wasn't prepared for it to detonate so quickly, or so close. The massive explosion in the air rattled his bones and forced his to cover his face with his arms, digging his heels into the dirt to keep from being launched backwards. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth as the force ground on him, only relaxing when it had subsisded. As he blinked his eyes open, he caught sight of several people between him and Miki. "More to finish what she started?"[
Of course these people were here to fight him, and he was ready, but he wasn't prepared for htem to be that fast. Before he could move, one of them had launched into him. Juiced on demon chakra and sharingan reflexes, he was still able to direct the momentum of the assault. The impact of the newcomer and the demon cloaked jonin made an audible sound. For a few seconds, the pair crashed and tumbled over each other before finally sliding to a halt. Himitsu shouted and struggled, demonic howls bellowing out alongside his own yells. Despite his efforts, the Mina clone remained on top, grappling the boy facedown into the dirt. Even in this proximity, Himitsu was unable to piece together who had attacked until Mina's voice boomed out across the area. Even then it was a moment, given her strange appearance.
It wasn't immediate, but Himitsu began to calm significantly after the realiztion hit. His breathing slowed, and he stopped trying to buck the clone from his chackra coated body. His rage subsided for the moment, and Matatabi took the opportunity to free them from Kurama's genjutsu. Guilt and shame quickly took up rage's place when Mina began chastising them. With each of her words, the bloody chakra surrounding him began to reced and creep back into his body. The clone's presence began more and more obvious as her clothing dug into his raw flesh, and groundhim into the dirt to contain him. "I didn't- I wasn't- She-!"

The shame and embarassment began welling up in his eyes, urged along by the pain seeping into his entire body the longer he sat after the cloak ended. Mina's last line hit differently though. Maybe it was the exhaustion, the high emotion, or Matatabi's influenece, but it felt like a personal dig at him. Miki's repeated accustation really drove the dig to the bone for him. With a twist of his wrist over his head, Himitsu activated his ember Cloak, and gave the Mina clone another shove. the heat and sudden motion were enought to startle the clone and send her tumbling for a moment.
Now standing, barely, and coated in a layer of dark blue, smoldering coals, Himi began shouting again. This time though, his voice was all his own. "For ******** sake, it was genjutsu! And don't act like you give a s**t about Kai! I came here for help finding him, then you attacked me! You probably killed him, you ******** psycho! What, you get jealous of the real Uchiha on the team? Well taking our eyes won't make you the real thing; You're still just a little Senju Princess playing dress-up with our eyes!" His chest heaved as he shouted and his legs shook, struggling to keep him upright.
A few breaths passed before he turned his attention to Mina. "Oh and you? You think you can lecture us about what Kai wants? Especially in regards to us fighting each other? When was the last time you saw him, huh? When he tried to kill you? Cuz that's the last time we saw him.So maybe let's not act like killing our friends wasn't a lesson he at least tried teaching us." By now his voice was loud, intense, hurt, but not a scream. He wasn't upset with Mina, not really, but she was here now, and he was still amped and in shock. Tears still threated to flood down, but for now hung on his eyelids, save the occasional rogue tear.

Himitsu may change his Spirit Fire to feel and sound like normal fire at will. Minaโs Curse Mark receded quietly as she stood there, arms crossed, as she looked down at the two shinobi in front of her. Her face was still stern, but it was degrees softer now that the fighting had stopped. Her heart went out to these kids, it really did. But as Himitsu and Mikki both tried to talk over each other to defend themselves, Mina hadโฆ no idea how to respond. This wasnโt just some quarrel. The two of them were hurting, suffering from wounds that were far deeper than they looked. And as much as she wanted to help both of themโฆ Mina didnโt know how. The ambiguity of the fate of their sensei, of the man Mina admired, made it hard to formulate her response. And it was made abundantly clear that this was causing a divide between these two.
And Mina wasnโt Kai. Kai wouldโve known how to fix this. Kai wouldโve known how to repair the damage and get everyone on the road to recovery. The red haired Jonin wanted to do right by her friend, or at least her memory of him. But now that she was placed smack dab in the middle of her first challenge, she didnโt know what to do. It aggravated her to no end as this feeling of uselessness washed over her. And as she was processing this, Himitsu found his strength again, knocking her clone off of him. Both of Minaโs clones disappeared in a cloud of smoke then, freeing Mikki as well. Himitsu had found his voice, too, fueled by his anger. And probably a bit of his pain, too, if Mina could go off of her own experiences to hazard a guess. Still, even as the dark blue embers spread across his body, Minaโs own Cursed Seal stayed dormant.
Himitsuโs words tore into the Jonin. The scars that spread across her abdomen felt like they were burning, like her wound had as Kai injected a lethal dose of poison into her body. No, that hadnโt been kai. Not really. Something had been wrong with him that day, like a Genjutsu or something. She just knew it. โEnough!โ Mina found herself saying, her tone harsh. โEnough. Both of you.โ She added, in a more quiet voice. She looked at Himitsu then to Mikki. โYouโre right, I canโt speak for what he might have wanted. But even so, do you really think the best thing to do is to hurt the ones around you just because of the hurt that youโre going through?โ
โI donโt know the two of you as well as I should, but it doesnโt take a genius to see youโre both going through a lot. But your recklessness almost brought a number of casualties, innocent people, into a squabble that isnโt theirs. Look around you.โ Mina gestured with her hand to the destroyed area around them. It was a motion that made pain shoot up her arm, and she did her best to hide a wince. โIs this really the legacy you want to leave behind? And just how long did you two talk before going at each otherโs throats?โ Minaโs voice was calm as she spoke to Mikki and Himitsu. The Nichibbi hostโs words in particular stung the Jonin, but she did her best not to respond in kind. That kind of outburst was, presumably, what started this mess. โI donโt know whatโs going on between you, but itโs on you guys to work it out amongst yourselves. All four of you.โ A gust of wind blew by the three of them as Mina took a second to gather her next words. โSomeone important to me once said โif you have the power to protect, then it is your responsibility to do so.โ So I want you two to go home and think about what that means to you, as well as how to make this right for each other.
