Currsebreaking is the art and study of breaking curses. Cursebreakers are often employed by Gringotts' for use in the vaults ensuring that the wizarding communities riches are safe, but they are also instrumental in archeological surveys to break the curses laid by our forefathers.

Byron Goodwin is from a Muggle family from Manchester, England. He was an active child, playing both football and rugby. When he attended Hogwarts, he was sorted into Gryffindor and joined the Quidditch team as a beater. After graduating from Hogwarts, Byron took a job first at Gringotts' working as a cursebreaker, then working as cursebreaker for an archeology company. Before coming to teach here, he returned to England and worked for Gringotts' but not in the vaults. He has two children with fellow Professor Lavender Goodwin.
