Yes, they are ^^ Althought you NEVER hear of orcish women. The multiplying of orcs is talked about in the Apendixes of the 3rd book. It just says the orcs ran into the mountains and there multiplied really.

Fair enough, I don't think anyone wanted to do a full study on orcs and their life cycle. I'm rereading the books now, I've still only up to Tom Bombadillo.
Did he just say that the Chinese.....are like orcs????? burning_eyes

Orcs are mutated Elves, so they reproduce just like Elves. Since Morgoth could not create new life, only twist existing ones, he couldn't make them spring out of the ground (like they do in the movies). XD
I thought they were made? Didn't it say in the trilogy somewhere that elves were made in the mockery of elves? Just like trolls were made in the mockery of ents.....and so on...(don't know any others ^^; )

No they really are mutated Elves. They were "made" in the sense of, like, genetic modification or some such. And Saruman made the Uruk-hai by breeding orcs with men. They're all artificial races.
