Need help. Writing.

I'm a rather exceptional author, but when it comes to songwriting, I'm rather talentless. My end product usually ends up as a storyline that runs too many circles. So if any of you have any tips on songwriting, or song structure, et cetera, that would be great because I really need the help... any help! crying

yay another author, um i actually have the same problem tho recently i've been getting a little better at song writing. not really sure what to tell you for advice sorry.

Um...I'm not a great songwriter but I do write poems fairly often, and I listen to a lot of music. lol

Try going a little lax on the storyline thing, a story in a song is good, but keep it simple. Try looking up the lyrics of some of your favorite songs and seeing how they're written. Hope that helps...
