I'd like to ask a few Architects, or anyone else who would know, a couple of questions.

1)What type of classes did you take during college?
2)How did you take your basics?
3)Any suggestions for someone starting out?
4)Did you enjoy it?

Well, I'm going into my senior year in highschool as soon as school starts up and I really want to get into architecture, but I don't know how I should apply for colleges and what-have-you. For instance, if I go to a college, should I go straight to an architecture college or can I go to a college, get my basics (required history, reading, math Etc.), then transfer to an architecture college. You know, questions like that.

well if you really are sure you want to get into architecture and you want to continue your education in that region later on, i think you should get into architecture college, straight off... but i guess that this kind of school has exams of architecture history and hand drawing... - just a guess

but if you're not entirely sure of your choice, or want to continue edutaction in other region than architecture, or you're not sure you'll be prepared for the exams - you should choose normal college for now - that would give you time to ensure your choice, or just get the basics (if you think you might need them later on)

before you asked about enjoying the classes... - if you're gonna have only architectural/history art type classes they will be hard but ... well art'ly
but if you're gonna have tectonics/building/building materials too, it will be much less fun cause you'll have to fit you're ideas into technical abilities/costs/technical requierments...
and that's just slow steady work... - to sum it up ~mixed feelings~

I hope my ramblings will be at least a lttle helpfull...
