I woke up to the girl standing over me.
Heavy bandages were pulling me down and not letting me out of the cot I was in.

She looked completely sober, and for the first time I realized how pretty she was.

My breasts hurt, and with a sick dawning I understood that the cop had cut off my left n****e.

She told me that she had found me unconscious on the side of the road.

I whispered to her that I didn't know what type of trouble she was in, but thanks to her I was in it too.

The doctor entered; and he was holding a clipboard with various papers and what looked like x-rays tickered to it.

He told me it was all superficial damage, and that my rib would be fine.
I got a prescription for Zanex and Morphine.

Two days ago I could have made these myself.
He didn't want to hear that, he told me I wasn't to be doing much of anything.

I asked how much this was going to weigh on me.

He told me that the girl who brought me in paid for everything in advance.
