I started drawing back when pokemon first came out..but it was nothing more than pokeballs and the occasional pikachu. It wasn't until 9th 7th grade when I really got into it. Thank you very much for your input Akira. I would appreciate it if you would elaborate on that first statement. And true...I do hide the hands for that reason...I can't really draw them correctly, so I hide them T.T
Wait..could your first statement have something to do with poses perhaps?
Not just different poses, but also deeply contrasting features that really, truly set them apart from one another. I know that the species is one thing, but facial and body structure is very important as well.
Practice using your own hands as reference. Sit there and use one hand to pose, and the other to draw it. It takes LOTS of practice to get it right, and be sure to use other references as well.
