This is the 49th step
It's time to begin the end
but it seems I'm out of breath
Standing weakly in your light
Trying to speak but the words won't come
There's something dark in the 49th
Pain in the long old scars of home
My words too many yet not enough
You know not your own influence
Weak, flawed ,and all too much
You see not your own radience
Smile not because you see me
as I do for you
Weep not and do not flee
but stand strong and true
The shadows of time approach
the tide of hope has ebbed
in yourself you'll find your hope
the tide of tears long shed
Stand strong and smile
for I smile in you
Linger still for a little while
Your time is coming soon
Fly at last in the 49th
flee for the time is come
Step into the hollow light
and taste the welcome home
