I've been a member of this guild for quite a while. Mainly as a lurker but during my time as a member I've heard of this group, I will soon elaborate on, mentioned in the forums here before.

They're quite an infamous group residing in Kansas... If that little sliver of information didn't give 'em away then I'll throw you a bone. They are the Westboro Baptist Church. These 'people' spend their time protesting the funerals of soldiers where they make their outrageous claims that the resulting deaths from the Iraq war is God's vengeance for the U.S.'s tolerance of homosexuals among many others.

That tidbit of information stirs in me a rage like no other... Imagine my reaction when I heard these hate mongering, wastes of life were coming to my home town to protest the death of a local soldier. I nearly pooped myself. How often does an opportunity like this come around? People I know where walking about saying such things as, "Lets go see the crazies!". It was as if the circus was in town and my entire school day was spent running the scenario through my head. Most involved violence of sorts.

Anyway, to say the least these scum didn't show. For reason I don't know they did not show up at the funeral. They still have their protest listed as one of their 'Love Crusades' on their website.

The soldier who died was Army Sgt. Thomas L. Clarkson. May he rest in peace.

How much these individuals fail at life.

I can't even say that they're a church. Sure they're crazed maniacs, have strange twisted morals and such. But, really. A church with 90 followers? The Pastarafians have more than that.

They believe in ethereal beings, that alone makes them losers in my book.
And although i dont' necessarily like soldiers that kill(ed*; it has been a long time since they've done any more raiding and stuff... i think) innocent people because they can't afford education or finding another job, their families do not deserve this kind of unbelievably ******** idiotic bullshit.
I too have thought violent thoughts when it comes to the WBC and their leader, but whatever. I hear that there's also a motorcade of patriot guys that sometimes show up to provide security... which means they keep those ******** well away from the ceremony... and i mean, they're bikers man... who the ******** would want to mess with a harley-riding, leather-wearing, badass biker? Not the WBC... that's for sure! domokun

The soldier wasn't some impoverished teenager looking for a way out of poverty or a reason to kill people. He was married and had a child.

Newspaper
The flag and medals were presented to his widow. The Fort Knox Honor Guard stood vigil outside UCHS and fired a three-volley salute. The Patriot Guard Riders of Indiana also stood with flags lining the entrance to the gymnasium.

It was pretty awkward when the instant we went to see the WBC protesters that the coffin was being escorted down the avenue. My two friends and I had no idea what to do but stand and watch as they passed by.

I managed to see the bikers though. I really wanted to shake one of their hands but I was a complete wuss. I mean.. they are bikers.

Really? Does there exist a link, because I'd love to see it.

My personal view is this. Those people are no more Christian or Baptist than I am a dragon.

They are, in my book, a hate based occult centered around utter idiocy, and eventually all bad things do end just as all good things eventually end.

One day they'll be screaming, and hollering with thier ignorance and hatred...and then one day they will be silent. To me...I look forward to the day when they finally disperse.

Of course that said when they fade some other circus will take up the act, and the show will go on, and another group of zealots will leave the world desperate for a way to understand how a group of people can stoop so low.

I do not hate these individuals. I actually pity them. I pity thier way of thinking, and I pity thier ignorance, and I pity the simple fact that they cannot find it within themselves to be nicer, and to be more accurate to the religion they pretend to be a part of.
