Do you think those terrorist would've attacked on 9/11 if they
didn't believe that they were doing Allah's will?
They believed in the literal word of the Qu'ran.

Religion in all forms, should be eradicated.
Does Religion not state that it has 'answers' for everything;
The beginning of life, How we should live, And the end of life?
If the true answers lie elsewhere, why should we give token to religion?
Religious modesty is breeding ground for extremism.

Because a vast majority of the population is in a state where they would be utterly weak and helpless without their faith, both emotionally and morally.

"Eradication" makes it sound like we should go on some kind of crusade like they did in the Soviet Union and get rid of it all together. No, it would be better to simply inject a respect for scientific theory and rationalism than to remove it all together. People, generally, need some kind of faith in something beyond themselves to grab onto, or they lose their concept of purpose all together. It'd take a major philosophical and political revolution to give them any reasonable replacement, and that's utterly at the question right now.

I recently got into a discussion with another atheist who had an oppression complex. Personally, I don't believe that my lack of faith is making society hold me back. While he was busy making an a** of himself in a GD thread, I had to point out to people who began to slam atheism that one a*****e is not indicative of an entire denomination. Most people seemed to understand. But it pisses me off when one jackass talking to one Christian gives off that much more negative of an impression of atheism as a whole.

And JP2's got nothing on my badass Pope name: Pope Fiction.

boy can I relate to Christians who make themselves look like an unsympathetic, accepting a** who don't even bother to do heavy research to even TRY to present their religion the way it should have been.
