Participation in all of the guilds I'm in has gone way down since the new gold system. There's like no motivation to make topics or polls or take polls when after like 15 minutes you get nothing.

I'm making squat from anything aside from the marketplace.

I still check everything daily.

It's just that nobody else posts anymore.

If I want gold, I sell donates. I don't post just to earn gold. I joined the guilds for the conversation, friends, etc.

i think that why a lot of people join gaia, to make friends and conversations but people like gold to spend around the site

Yeah, the gold is fun and everything, but like none of the people I talk with are ever on anymore...

Didn't think of the gold system being to blame.

It's weird, though, that so many others are suffering. I figured that it was just our guild since people haven't been posting photos lately of their legs. .:cough:.

Yes, active members in guilds aren't as common as they used to be and starting a new guild is really hard work... There are some really fun new additions tho - i love cinemas.

Yah, I know what you mean. I left on hiatus about 15 months ago or so, and just recently got back into Gaia... Now getting gold is really difficult, I can't get a good outfit, and people seem to judge others based on the expense of their gaia's clothing... I've seen people get scorned for the cheapness of their outfits before the hiatus, so I don't post nearly as much as I used to.
I used to also go for the mini shops a lot, but without the posting and poll gold, I can't really afford tat anymore, either. Gaia's just lost the looseness it used to have, from what I've seen. It's not as much fun anymore. It's circled around money, inappropriate topics, and clothing. It doesn't seem to be about socialization anymore. Maybe that's just me, though.
