City Hall ~The RP~

[Jasae Bushae]

The senior clerk plushie stroked his fabric chin.
"That could be helpful.....Do you have any ideas to offer City Hall at the moment?"
The clerk asked, testing his ability  

[Breyer]

Professor Breyer paused thoughtfully.

"I could offer a couple of suggestions," he said eventually. "First, I would suggest forming strong relationships between City Hall and some of the other government and major organizations in the city, such as the Police Department, Hospital, Seaport (docks), Data Towers, Library, Railroad, and Artisans' District. A city needs many healthy organizations to help everyone succeed, and City Hall is in a unique position to coordinate the effort."

"Thank you."
the clerk plushie said as he lead her towards a series of desk that were pushed together with a massive pile of documents in the middle.
"Apparently city hall had not been used for years before Tanya was apointed mayor so the paperwork just kept piling up until we cant even do anything until its work out."
He said, pointing at an adjoining hall across from them that was stuffed full of paperwork.

Following the plushie clerk to the desks covered in paperwork, Pharlen set down the papers she'd picked up and then with her free hand she pet the air just above her other arm, which was still in a position as though it was cradling something.

"So..." she said, her mouth skewed to one side for a momentary gesture of uncertainty. She bit the corner of her lower lip and then said "Hm. You're saying that the city government is completely different now."  

[Breyer]

Breyer twiddled his thumbs, waiting for a reply from the plushie.  

[Jasae Bushae]

The senior clerk sighed and sat back.
"We would except the previous administration let paperwork slide and we have to go through decades of the stuff before we can touch those other branches..."
The clerk seemed to be thinking things over before reaching his hand across the table.
"At least you seem to have a good head on your shoulders. Welcome to City Hall."

The clerk nodded.
"Thats right. Us clerks are making progress but until we make some progress with the mountains of paperwork, City Hall is nothing but a fancy building."
Clerky began going through the papers.
"Chibi manages to keep things going though and thus far she has managed wonders with the cities education system."  

[Breyer]

The senior clerk sighed and sat back.
"We would except the previous administration let paperwork slide and we have to go through decades of the stuff before we can touch those other branches..."
The clerk seemed to be thinking things over before reaching his hand across the table.
"At least you seem to have a good head on your shoulders. Welcome to City Hall."

Breyer was a little surprised that he was given a job offer before being told the nature of the position or what his salary would be, but he shook the clerk's hand anyway. Perhaps because of the mountains of paperwork, no one had time to write job descriptions or employment contracts.

"Thank you. What position did you have in mind for me?"  

[Jasae Bushae]

"Unfortunatly we are still coming up with the list of positions the City Hall has so we will give you an actual job title once we unearth that list."
The senior clerk said befre getting back to work on his fearsome mountain of paperwork.  

[Breyer]

"I see. Well, thank you."

Breyer looked around, trying to decide whether the most efficient way to dispose of the mountains of paperwork would be to rent construction vehicles and deposit all of the paperwork directly into the recycling facility. Without a backlog of paperwork, everyone could get a fresh start.

The clerk nodded.
"Thats right. Us clerks are making progress but until we make some progress with the mountains of paperwork, City Hall is nothing but a fancy building."
Clerky began going through the papers.

"I see..." Pharlen said, still petting whatever thing she was holding that seemed to not even be there, "So... do you not have any communication with the bags?"  

[Breyer]

Breyer decided to take some initiative. He went to the nearest stack of papers and began to read them.

"City Income Tax Reports for the Docks from 2002."

Breyer wondered to himself what he should do with this report. Should it be audited? Should it be scanned into a computer? Should it be shredded? Should it be given to a particular City clerk?

Breyer took the report and began to look around City Hall for any office door that said something like "Internal Revenue" or "Tax Division."  

[Jasae Bushae]

"Bags?"
The clerk asked in confusioness. Unsure of what she meant.
"Do you mean the baggers union? No, they don't have dealings with the public office."

Looking around, Breyer would see 'Internal Revenue Taxing Division' above one of the doorways that was sealed shut thanks to an outpouring of documents.  

[delbosque]

"No..." Pharlen replied. "I'm referring to a different group."

Then she looked around vaguely, as if uncertain about something.  

[Breyer]

Seeing that the Tax Division was no condition to help, Breyer returned to the lead plushie. "Do you think it would be better for us to shred all of these documents and start fresh? Sometimes a fresh start in government is a good thing."  

[Jasae Bushae]

The clerk shrugged. "Nope. I don't know any other Bag groups. Unless its information we haven't unearthed from the floods of paper yet."
He said, showing Pharlen a map of City Hall with all but a few rooms shaded over.

The clerk gasped. "Shredding government files is a crime! You could spend time in prison for that! Plus we haven't unearthed the section of City Hall that would allow us to change that law yet." He added in the end with some reluctance.  

[Breyer]

Breyer sighed and gave up. Deciding that none of the plushies would notice that he was leaving, he went in search of other employment.
