I was thinking, should we have a list of rules or something on the home page for people who are requesting to join?
Like, setting up rules as to what should be in their join request?
For example, there are alot of people who are like, "Oh! Well, I like anime and Yuugiou so I'd like to join!"
Should we have them provide like... Why they like Yuugiou, who their favorite character is, etc.? (I've actually seen people who say the like Yuugiou, but they don't know any characters names and then they stop liking Yuugiou in a week. >>)
I know on the homepage there's already a message saying to tell why you like Yuugiou, but I think people would pay more attention if it was listed as rules. o-o
What do you guys think?
If you like the idea, we can compile the rules here! =3
(I don't think we should have more than 5-7 tho'. xD It might freak people out. xD)

Well, I was thinking that one of the rules would be telling why you like Yuugiou. o-o
If they can do that, then it proves that they're someone who'll be around for a while. ^-^
Also, I was thinking maybe for them to include their favorite character(s). Like I said in the first post, I've seen alot of people that say they like something, but they don't know the characters names. Then they stop liking it the next week. x.x
Also, we should have one of those "Include this word in your request so we know you read the rules" things. xD
What do you guys think? o-o

Oh yea, I love those things! They are totally random, and it insures that the person read it. Oo what word should we use!? Awright, that is probably the most irrelevant part... uhm..
Favorite Character - I was going to suggest that. And why they like um? Perhaps. These are good ideas though, mi gusta!

Ummm, I dunno. The word we used has to be something that wouldn't be used in a regular conversation. o-o
I really like the word "eien". xD What word do you guys want to use? o-o
Oh! Yeah! It would be better if they could tell why they like their favorite character also. o-o
Ummm, I had another idea, but I forgot what it was. o-o
Maybe we could have them also give their least favorite character and why the don't like them? o-o

I think favorite character and why would be good. ^^ Some people like all the characters, and I dunno, I don't want any biasm with the descisions. I mean, a lot of bashers bother me.... and I don't want to actually encourage that in our guild, especially the nonsense type, if we give them permission to bash a character they might think it's okay. I mean, it is okay but it's really not a fun topic to get into... crying
So far we have....
Why do you like Yu-gi-oh?
Who is your favorite character from the series (anime or manga) and why?
And maybe we could do something like, "what part of the fandom do you consider yourself a part of".... i.e, fangirls, roleplayists, yaoi fangirls, RPGers, etc.
But pretty much, we don't want it to be too long or anything. Short and simple. I think the most questions we should ask is three.... anything more than that would probably be over the top.

Okay, these are good ideas. I definitely like the why they like YUU*GI*OU question, as it shows their reasons for wanting to join the guild. Favorite character questions works also, but I'm not so sure about asking why they like that character... I mean, not everyone even has a favorite character. (some might not be able to choose, while others might have more than one, etc.) So they could easily list that in place of who their favorite character is, but then when you get into why, it gets kind of messy. Some people will put long details that are nice and thought-out, but others might not have any idea why they like a specific character. We'd probably also get a lot of annoying answers like, "Because he's hawtt!" and that kind of stuff... I dunno, I guess asking why is fine, but it might be complicating things too much.
And I'm afraid I agree with Akila about the least favorite character thing. I wouldn't want to have people bashing characters right in their request and I wouldn't want people to enter the guild with negative feelings.
I really like the fandom question though, since it could help give us an idea of how many people we'll have mainly participating in certain subforums. It would probably be a good idea to put "part(s) of the fandom" instead of just "part," since a lot of people are into more than one thing.
As for the word? I like eien also, but there's really a lot of fun things we can do. ^^ Like... "Porkchops and applesauce!" XD;; Maybe we should just lay out a bunch of ideas and then vote?

But yea, it'd be nice to figure that out in some kind of a vote.
And, I agree with your ideas Kitsune. The reason I suggested why, is because I'm always given that question when joining guilds. I guess I never considered they wouldn't know why. XD;

I like the fandom idea pretty well, but what if people don't really consider themselves in a certain group of the fandom or something?
It does sound like a fun question though. x3
And I think it would be a good idea to list words that we could use and then vote on it. ^-^
Another good word would be "Pocky"! xD
And I guess you're right about not including why you like a character. But I still think that it might be good to put it up.
We can just make sure to add that it has to be short... Like 5-8 sentences or whatever.
Oh! And "eien" is Japanese for "forever", Akila. ^-^

Well, if they don't consider themselves in a certain fandom... that's a good point. XD;; Maybe we shouldn't include that either... maybe instead ask what parts of YUU*GI*OU they like? (so like, incorporate it into the why they like YUU*GI*OU question?) And they could just list what parts of the fandom they like: Anime, manga, TCG, Pairings, etc.
And maybe the why they like a character thing can be optional...

How about "Sakebi" or "Sakebu"? (They're both "scream", but the difference is that "sakebi" is a noun where "sakebu" is the act of screaming. ^-^ Just in case anyone'd like to know. =3)
