Just because you donate gold, doesn't mean that you have to be ranked up. I got ranked up by posting a lot and being friendly.

It means that you get ranked up to a moderator. You get a lot more priveliges, like deleting forums and posts, letting people join the guild, and such. But just not ANYONE can become a mod. ESPECIALLY not just by donating.
