Debating on getting my nose pierced

So next Monday is my 16th birthday which means that I can finally get something other than me ears pierced.
I'm thinking of getting a nostril done
cause those are common enough that I'm fairly certain my dad wont rip it out of my face.
And of course cause they're cute.
whee
But I was wondering about how long it would take before I could change the jewelry to a retainer after its pierced
in case my dad does have a bad reaction.

I was also wondering how much it would hurt
compared to stretching my ear lobes.
Just to get an idea.

By the way you're talking, you sound like you plan on going to a parlor alone.. You DO realize you have to have your dad there, right?

And cartilage takes a year to fully heal, generally.

Don't get anything pierced if you're just planning on switching it to a retainer immediately. It won't work out for you.

My dad doesn't live with me anymore.
It would be my mom taking me to get it done.

And I know I would have to wait at least a few months to put in a retainer,
but I was looking for a more specific time frame.
Cause I'm supposed to stand in my dad's wedding in March,
and he definitely wouldn't allow me to have any visible piercings for that.

By march you should be fine to put a retainer in, just make sure to get one of the quartz ones. Not plastic, and you can barely see the pierceing at all with it in.

As for pain wise... its not that bad, deffenately worse then stretching.Your eyes will probably water a bit. But at least its only a quick pain.
I have found from what my friends say and from my own experence. Nostril peirceings heal pretty quickly.
