How do you know when to let things go?

Ok, i'v finaly decided to ask people this. How do you know when to let things go? My real father has been in prision for 4 years and he got out the first two years then went back in. Well that one time he got out i saw him and was happy then he betray me by preaking probation and going back in. Well i thought i could trust him and i kept giving him chances because hes my father, but now i'm about to lose hope, yet after not talking to me for a year or so he wants to see me.

I'm sorry if this made no scine but its complicated as is. I just don't know what to do and its been making me rather depressed.

go and talk to him
but also don't ignore the fact that he betrayed you
it would be a good chance for u 2 to talk and reach an understanding
it is important to talk, try to get a genuine apology from him,
and then apologize for anything that you could have done to contribute to his actions.

I see what your saying. Thanks. It took me a few days to get over it but things are much better now. It also took me forever to respond and i fell bad for that. been busy with the horses and junk.
