Getting into the country was easy.
What was hard was convincing himself that he needed to go to the Drop.
Two years is a long time.
Miriam is dead, David knew that.
He knew that this letter was most likely from one of her friends or maybe an angry family member.
David was no fool, he knew this was a trap.
It's a trap he has to see though, because the thought of "what if?" is too much too for him.
Oh well, he's in Florida now, standing in line at a car rental place in Sarasota.
The Drop is only twenty minutes away.
That lakehouse hasn't been used for at least five years.

David paid for everything and got in the seat of the Volvo he had just rented. The Drop was nestled in a cluster of hidden lakes.
No neighbors for five miles in each direction.
The feeling in his gut was telling him to go back to the snow.
