The cost of a dog depends soley on the breed. I have a great pyranees and a bullpug. The GP alone cost $400 dollars to feed, groom and care for because he's big and has long and fluffy fur. My bullpug costs $230 because he's smaller and has shorter fur.

I pay for my rat care- used to have a small job. Now I receive donations from a very kind rat club. They know I rescue.

I work part time.

But my cats will never be in trouble, they always come first.
As for unexpected vet bills, I've never had one. But thats what a credit card is for - emergencies like that.

Dogs can get pretty expensive. I have a 7 year old Golden and a 6 month old Aussie. I have never had any emergency care yet, but tomorrow the Aussie goes in to be spayed (300 to 400 dollars).

YAY, another Aussie in the guild xd They're expensive... Just cause.
Especially if you do training with them. Which I hope you will. Cause she will drive you INSANE if you don't put that mind and energy to good use.

Yeah Isabelle does drive us crazy at times. When I picked her up at the vet they told ne no running or jumping. I looked at her and said I have two dogs and one is a 6 month old Aussie.

Wait, you're telling me it costs $300-$400 to have your dog spayed?
My mom got her dogs spayed at $20 each..

Does it vary by size of dog or something? Or is it by location..

In my area all dogs cost $120 to alter no matter the size. Cats cost $96-$120. An Aussie is a 40 pound dog when grown *some can get bigger and I seen some smaller* Its probably just how much her vet charges.
