My 1 month old cartilage piercing...

I have really soft ear cartilage, and cartilage in general, so I thought it would be pretty easy to let my piercing heal.

Its been about a month or so since I got it done, and it seems like its healed. I can put pressure on it, it never bleeds, its never infected, right now its the miracle piercing.

I was wondering if this would be too soon to take out the earring and put different jewelery in by myself.

Should I just have my piercer do it for a few more months, or can I do it myself?

For cartilage piercings, I usually recommend waiting 3 months before changing jewelry. If you have to, I would at least recommend having a professional do it for you.

from experience: my first 2 cartilage piercings i got them done at the mall(eeee) so i waited a long time(like 4 months) to change them.. i was also 14 and didnt know much about piercings lol.

but i just got 2 cartilage piercings dont on new years together. and i changed them 2 weeks later. no problems. its now a month and a half old and doing good. which is good cuz my other 2 cartilage piercings felt sore for like 4 months... i blame getting it done at the mall.

i think its really up to how you feel. maybe give it 2 more weeks. no sense rushing it..
if you feel unsafe changing them than wait and go to your piercer. dont rush it if you dont feel comfortable doing it!
