The Black Woode is an enchanted forest which seems to have a mind of its own. It is rumored to occasionally play tricks with any magic that is used within its oaken walls, and some say that at times, when the Three Moons are in a particular alignment (or perhaps simply when it wants to), the forest will change. Instead of a lush, verdent atmosphere, one will stumble upon thousands of miles of rotten wood and dead oaks. Even the Black Lake is said to change to meet its new surroundings, becoming stagnant and developing a thick film of scum and algae at its surface.
