The Story
While many people of the human world do not believe in magic and other such mystical things, many teenagers find themselves fascinated by the concept. One day, a group of such kids tried to use magic to pass into another dimension, or realm. They had studied the magic deeply and used artifacts and rituals to amplify their own spiritual powers for their experiment. However, everything went horribly wrong. Instead of passing into the other realm, they tore the fabrics of space that separate our dimensions, merging ours with another.
The tears ranged from giant gaps to small holes in the fabric, and they appeared to be seemingly random in placement. One could very easily travel to the other realm by accident. It did not take long for confusion to erupt in both worlds as they learned about each other. The superior technology of the "Human Realm" both amazed and shocked those of the "Demon Realm", while quite conversely, the existence of magic and mystical beings shuck the foundations of logic within the "Human Realm".
This was 50 years ago. In this short time, the real conflict has only begun. The new generation has learned much about both realms and has learned to survive using both magic and technology, but both sides have begun to plot against each other.
The humans have put their differences aside and have united their world under one leader through democracy, but the corruption of today's politicians has fallen to an all-time low. They have captured creatures of different races within the Demon Realm and begun to conduct experiments on them. Their goal is to create the ultimate weapon and gain control of both realms. They have managed to coax the gentler races into allying with the humans to help protect them. The first to join them were the angels and fairy creatures, but others have fallen suit. They have taught the humans much about magic to help them survive.
The demons, united under their king, the strongest demon amongst them, have used the gossip of these experiments to provoke the rage of those within the Demon Realm to commit a mass genocide of the human race. Demons of every type have heard this call and have dedicated themselves to inciting war.
However, there are still many amongst all the races that remain neutral in this conflict. Not all demons are evil, while not all tribes of fairies and angels are so trusting. Will war between the races be eminent, or can it be prevented? This is the world we live in now.

And a quick explanation of races and status in the RP (but it's not limited to these and if you have suggestions, please let me know):
Human Realm Statuses:
Summoner - The ability to call upon mystical beasts and spirits for help. This can be done using an artifact such as cards, wands, jewelry, orbs, staffs, magic dust, etc., or using chants, symbols, rituals, runes, etc.
Sorcerer/Sorceress - The ability to use elemental magic without an artifact, chants, symbols, rituals, runes, etc.
Enchanter/Enchantress - The ability to create illusions and see small portions of the future.
Wizard/Witch - The ability to conjure various magics using an artifact such as cards, wands, jewelry, orbs, staffs, magic dust, etc. in conjunction to chants, symbols, rituals, runes, etc.
Healer - Well, this should be obvious but there are various skill levels within this status. Some use artifacts, herbs, chants, symbols, rituals, runes, etc., but not all have to.
Ki User - Using physical energies to increase speed and strength and cast a protective barrier. Ki can also be projected and used in a similar way to magic and chi. Ki requires much physical discipline and goes hand to hand with melee combat weaponry.
Chi User - Using mental energies to increase speed and strength and cast a protective barrier. Chi can also be projected and used in a similar way to magic and ki. Chi does not require as much time or discipline to master as it's of the mind and is best used in conjunction to magic.
Mage - This is the most difficult status for humans to obtain since it requires a great deal of spiritual energy, which humans do not generally have enough of. It is sort of like a combination of all of the above. Artifacts and what not serve to help amplify spiritual energy making the magic stronger.
Demon Realm Races:
Nymph - Elemental spirits with magic pertaining to their element.
Fairy - These creatures vary greatly depending on the tribe. They are usually smaller than humans and all have some type of wings. They serve to protect the natural world, and each tribe has it's own specific task, therefore has it's own type of magic.
Angel - Creatures that attract positive energy. Most angels' magic uses primarily the light element, but there have been exceptions. Stronger angels generally have more wings. Also, an angel's wings' color varies from tribe to tribe. Oftentimes, the color has a direct correlation to their type of magic.
Vampire - These creatures are solitary and so do not live in groups. They are nocturnal, but won't die in sunlight, they just dislike it, and have a weakness to the light magic. They are way stronger and faster than humans and require the blood of a lesser creature to survive. They have come to love and crave human blood.
Dragon - These creatures are also solitary. Their powers are sometimes elemental, but not always. Strong dragons also have the ability to shapeshift, but only to a limited number of forms. (Let's say a God-like dragon could still only have 4 forms). Of course no God-like beings of any race are allowed.
Demon - This race is extremely general and has races within itself. There are many animal-like demons such as cat demons, fox demons, dog demons, etc. There are demons with horns, with feathered or leathery wings, with tails, and even ones with features of various animals. A naga, werewolf, catgirl, etc. would fall under this category. Their powers vary greatly and will require your own imagination.
Mixed Races:
There are also those of mixed races. Elves and dwarves would fall here I guess. This category is limited only by your imagination and you can mix any combination of races or even invent a new breed altogether here! (fyi: an elf or dwarf would be a human mixed with something or other like a wood or earth nymph.)
That's everything! Sorry it's so incredibly long but I wanted to explain it thoroughly. I'm also recruiting since construction of this RP will start as soon as I get a cool title for it; one that will attract many people.
