Does one typically bring a gift to a graduation party?

I've been invited to two high school graduation parties.
One is very formal, like, dresses/tuxes at a rented out hotel ballroom type
formal. The other is a soup/salad dinner at the girl's house followed by going
to see the new Indiana Jones movie. Should I bring presents?
I've never been to a grad party before. gonk

I can't help you out I'm afraid, we don't have proper graduation ceremonies here unless we go to university and pass gonk

That depends. If it was an invitation with an RSVP, a gift would likely not be required but would be appreciated.

If it's an open house, anyone-can-come sort of an event, it would be appreciated but no one would expect you to bring one.

In both of those cases, it sounds like bringing a small (useful) gift would be best. biggrin
