Until I read the very last sentence,
I thought you were going to say that you'd collected all of these yourself.

The art work is beautiful,
but is all of this the legit deal?
I haven't seen anime cover art use illustrations from the manga.
It all looks like the sort of stuff someone can put together using a graphics program
(they have options for printing DVD jackets and CD covers)
using images from the artbooks.

And then random DVD collections have the anime art on the cover instead.


Then again, I am also not a collector,
so it's entirely possible that I've just never come across
actual Sailor Moon DVD's before.

The way the pictures on the boxes and DVDs makes me think someone did it on their home computer.
It's just too light, it's not like normal anime DVDs where all the manga pictures on the Box and DVDs are bold and vibrant.
Like my box set of Peach Girl uses manga images like this one on the DVDs but every image on the DVD is always bright and colourful.

So it makes me think that all these are not made by the right guys.

That and the fact that if the Legal distributors made the DVDs and DVD boxes they probably wouldn't write "volume 1" or volume whatever on the DVDs. Plus the back of the DVDs doesn't look right either, you don't get information like "langauge:english, Japanese" or "Dolby digital sound" or whatever they're called.
The blurbs look very half assed. And yeah, all the text is in the same font and all in black, and no real graphic design was used to make it very visible.

So if I were you I wouldn't get this for your birthday, I think someone is pulling a prank or something and if you ordered this off the internet I think you'll be sad :<.
Better off going to a real store and get to talking the the shop clerk, that way you can find out what they can get in and you know the type of person you're dealing with.
I don't trust ordering anything off the internet, because you don't know the person on the other end razz .

I have the box sets for every season and the movies and they don't look like that. I agree that someone has made that themselves. Especially with the amount of discs. S only takes up 3 discs and the other seasons are on 4 discs and they come in a fold out case it's pretty cool. Those would have to be downloaded ones.


Note: S is on loan to a friend, so it's not in the picture.

So, in summary,
it's fair to want the complete Sailor Moon collection (who doesn't, after all?),
but don't buy from whatever source you found all of those images from.

Yeah, the pictures are nice on the DVD's but I'd have to agree they look like someone made them!! But I want the whole series too!!! gonk

I just bought a complete series (1-200) and they don't use manga pictures.

The set's a complete fake. NONE of the Sailormoon DVDs from ANY country have EVER had artwork from the manga or artbooks.

I've seen many a set, and I even have one set from Malaysia, and all of the other sets use either art work from ADV or Cloverway, or straight from the anime.

It's a shame, I know which site those come from too. crying
