Since noone knows anything about Degeneration or alot about RE5 lets make some theories. after all we could probably guess better than theyve given us. My theory for degeneration is a LLLLOOONNNNGGGGGGG shot. Ok remember in RE4 when Leon started by explaining that he was in an orginization under control of the president? What if that orginization was BSAA (the one chris is supposed to be in in RE5). Then Claire would be searching for her brother. Leon was sent from BSAA with others(cuz we're not sure if others wont come, the trailer was about a minute) to contain an infectionheading into that airport.So the virus coming summoned the BSAA which Claire was finding to find Chris.
