Let everyone know a little about you. A you a musician, vocalist, soloist, or just a classical fanatic. What do you play? What group are you apart of? Like an orchestra, band, choir, soloist or any other group.
+++++++++++ MY UPDATE JUNE 2010 +++++++++++++ I've been playing oboe for 6 years. Im a music ed major transfering over to The FSU College of Music in the fall 2010. Its the 3rd largest music school in the country with 1200 music students and over 500 performances a year.. im extremely excited. I've played in the Panama City POPS orchestra for 5 years, but i've had to leave because i'll be away at school in the fall. I was started on flute at age 11 but fell in love with the oboe soon enough.
My favorite periods of classical music are Baroque followed by Romantic (Maybe a little early 20th cent) . I love Bach and Vivaldi, and I also adore Dvorak, Saint-Saens, Prokofiev, Rimsky-Korsakov, (love the Russian composers)... ect ect.. I love it all...

Hey everyone! I've been clarinet for over 8 years, and loving every minute of it. I play in my school band, as well as the full orchestra. I also do a lot of contest stuff, as I really love the solo clarinet repertoire. Last year I played both clarinet and bass clarinet in the pit orchestra of my school's production of Beauty and the Beast.
This summer I had an amazing experience where I went to a music camp, which was all about classical playing. I got to work with a top-notch clarinet player (Jun Qian, the clarinet professor at St. Olaf college), and an amazing band. It was really great, and I think I improved.
I also love to listen to music, and am on the Music Listening team at school, and went to one competition. It was fun.
I love Gustav Holst, Tchaikovsky, and Weber, especially.

Awww, I'm horrible at this whole introducing myself thing...
I'm Amy, I play trombone/euphonuim. Euponium since grade six, trombone since grade nine. I'm just starting university now, getting a BA for Music Education. Who knows, I might end up as a music teacher or something. Though I'd much prefer playing in a symphony somewhere...
As for bands I'm currently in, there's only two. The wind ensemble and the jazz band of the university. I was in a youth orchestra, but I quit it for the time being to see how what the workload at the U would be like. There, I was the happy 2nd trombonist. (I could have worked up to section lead, I suppose, but I didn't like the idea of leading. I'm quite happy playing the supporting role. ^_^)
I am a huge fan of Hector Berlioz, though I'm not entirely sure why. It *might* have something to with his fondness for trombones, and use of it in his works. I actually did a Berlioz piece for my U audition, which was awesome.
Uh... I guess that's all the rambling I'll do for today. It should be noted... I live and breathe for this thing we call music. It's been a big part of my life, and with any luck, it will continue to be. And it makes me happy, knowing this.

Wow, I'm nothing compared to all of you. ;o
Anyways, I'm Shoku [not real name], and my primary instrument is the piano. I've been taking private lessons from one of the best schools on island for about ten years, and I'm still going. I'm the [only] oboist for my high school's concert band, I'm the drum major for my high school's marching band, and I play the flute in the Hawaii All-State Marching Band, which is due to perform in Pasadena this coming Christmas.
For a long while, I lost my interest in classical music [I'd say from seventh to nineth grade year?], but found my passion for it my sophomore year. Now, I play nothing but classical music in my piano class. I've learned that I don't progress much at all playing contemporary music. As of now, I have no favorite composers because I haven't studied enough to have a favorite.
