Of course, the Planets Suite rocks. My favorites are Jupiter, Mars, and Neptune. I use to listen to Neptune as I went to sleep, I love it so much.

I use to listen to Neptune as I went to sleep, I love it so much. .3. i try not to listen to neptune often because once i hear it i want to listen to it again and again and again, ect. but my favorite is Venus because of its serene, peaceful impression. my favorite part of the song is around the last two minutes. my favorties greatest to least 1. venus 2. jupiter 3. neptune 4. mercury 5. saturn 6. uranus 7. mars

I really enjoy listening to the planets. My favorites would have to be Mars and Jupiter. I saw the whole Suite played by the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra last year and it was awesome.

I LOVE The Planets! Holst is one of my favorite composers.
I love all of the movements, but Jupiter is just so epic. I hope to try and persuade the orchestra director at my school to let us try it.

writerserenyty I LOVE The Planets! Holst is one of my favorite composers. I love all of the movements, but Jupiter is just so epic. I hope to try and persuade the orchestra director at my school to let us try it. my band director made us perform a band version of Mars. 5/4 time is hard .-. but its a good challenge smile

We played Mars in our orchestra a year or so ago. The brass was so frikin excited. They almost went apeshit when the maestro told them they could play it. It was powerful. Being an oboist there wasnt too many exciting parts for me to play in. (And even when I was playing we were drowned out) But it was awesome to listen to.
Id say my favorites are Jupitar and Mercury

I must be either extremely inexperienced or just plain stupid for not knowing what this is. D: But I will soon. I've downloaded all seven from iTunes, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.

Mars is super fun to conduct XD But I gotta love Neptune, I mean, how awesome is it when you have a women's chorus AND a fade-out ending? Seriously. Also, Jupiter is just plain fun.

heart ... Autumn leaves fall and are swept out of sight ...
I love The Planets but chosing a favourite is always difficult as I keep changing my mind. At the moment I'm rather partial to Saturn.
Although on the whole I'll probably end up going back to Jupiter. XD
I found a $9 copy in Sanity a couple of years' ago; it includes Pluto ((they managed to blend it rather well)), as well as The Trumpeteer sung by Claire Rutter. That just spoiled the whole CD for me ((I don't like Rutter's voice)).
... So are the memories of love that we knew ... heart

I haven't heard them all, being pretty young. (not revealing age) But I'm listening to Jupiter now that everyone's mentioned it, and I have to say, IT'S AMAZING.
biggrin
