I dont get it. I was in my car yesterday with my brother waiting for mom to show up. I was playing one of Bach's organ fuges. My brother looked at me, got out of the car, and stood next to the car, and waited outside. I was kinda offended and hurt that he would rather wait outside in the 96 degree Florida parking lot for 20 min. Rather than listen to Bach. neutral

Next time you should get Havergal Brian's first symphony (supposudley the longest symphony ever) and see if he still waits outside. xd
Anyways, people just need to adjust to it. I absolutly couldn't care 4 years ago what Beethoven composed. But now I've heard ever single piece by him XD I think you should start with neo-classical music, it works on my parents.

I don't know why people don't like classical music anymore. I guess people just think its outdated, perhaps? rolleyes It reminds me of a math class this year and my teacher started to play Beethoven's 5th on the speakers and my classmates walked in and where like "Ughhh. This music is so boooring, I hate classical music." And then they just went outside and worked in the hallway, rather than sitting in actually chairs. It was rather annoying and ignorant of them.

My brother is into rock and indie. My dad likes classical, hes just extremely unknowledgeable about it. No rap thank God. Mom likes oldies.

lol two years ago in 8th grade, my 'home-room' teacher started to play Beethoven's 9th symphony and I almost sang along. One of the kid's looked at me and was like, "What are you doing?" and I said, "I'm guessing how the song goes" ^^

The appriciation for it is gone, with just a few of us as exceptions. Most of us musicians. People dont understand the emotion of it. Classical music is absolute beauty.

`Kel` My brother is into rock and indie. My dad likes classical, hes just extremely unknowledgeable about it. No rap thank God. Mom likes oldies. Then what about starwars music? If they like that, then try Verdi's Reqiuem, the Sequence part. Also known as the Dies Irae. If he likes music like metallica, then find the S&M album music somewhere. It's not a very good representation but it still works.

All music is absolute beauty, but most people see beauty in two ways. 1) Amazing 2) yeah I'd hit that. Fourtunatly I think we're all the first type.

Thats a good idea.
My dad is obsessed with the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack. He even took it with him on his sailboat and played it while he was sailing. sweatdrop Hes got a big imagination. lol

I'm glad that my family loves classical music. Except for one of my brothers, but he tolerates it. My mother is now going around the house singing stuff I was either practicing or have listened to.
But she doesn't sing the right rhythm. It irritates me.
