Anyone else a fan of Bartok here? Right now I'm playing his Suite Paysanne Hongroise for flute and I am in love with it! I also like his piano music too.

i played on of his slovenian dances or something, can't remember the name, it was a while ago, but i really liked it!

I actually haven't heard or played any of his Bartok's songs. Will you suggest some to listen to?

Bartók can be tough to get into. His Concerto for Orchestra is probably his most famous work, and it's fairly accessible. But he's a varied guy. You might also try his piano concerti, each of which is a very different beast.

Amphion is right. You either like Bartok or you don't. I think he's great.
I suggest listening to the Suite Paysanne Hongroise. It's for flute and orchestra ands its just really neat.

I think there's room to grow into him. He has a very idiosyncratic style. If you don't like him now, try again in a few years.

I agree. I hated his music when I was young, but I've certainly learned to appreciate it more now.
