Arios V Religion has been intermingled with politics since the dawn of civilization so I really can't say this shocks me. Not to mention that there are still some theocracies out there. However, what does irritate me is that it only seems to be the Christians who are really allowed into the political sector. Basically with them it's if you don't believe in the Christian god, then you can't hold a political office and can only watch as we rape the country by trying to force our ideals down everyone's throats. Now granted, that's not always the case, but the frequency of it is quite disturbing. We do have safeguards against this in the Constitution, however I forgot that we invalidated the Constitution a long time ago and turned it into a doormat so that political a**-monkeys (not just the religious zealots) could use it to wipe their feet off before they completely destroy everything we ever stood for. What are you referring to? Last I checked, our bill of rights was still active, and the constitution was still up and running well.
I'd like some examples of these "frequent" events of politicians shoving religion down our throats.
Oh, and did you not realize that the people choose the president? Their congressmen? Their representative? If there's anyone to blame for christians being in power, is it really the politicians themselves, or rahter those who voted for them?

The Patriot Act of course....damn near invalidated the Constitution.
-The numerous and ongoing attempts to overturn Roe V. Wade -The numerous reports in the news of counties and states trying to ban gay marriage. I know in 2006, Virginia amended its constitution to outlaw gay marriage and prevent gay couples, whether married or not from owning property or adopting children
I know those aren't great examples and don't illustrate my point at all and I know I'm not clearly not as intelligent as any of the other people in the forum, but to be honest, I don't pay attention to this stuff anymore or anything else in the news for that matter. I'm tired of reading about which celebrity was caught without panties on, how the Redskins can't catch a football, the war in Iraq or the sad state of our economy.
I know the people choose the president and everyone in congress and I would have to say that it's probably a little of both there. Also, yes I'm fully aware that I can't make a good argument, no matter how hard I try (actually I wouldn't say what I said was an argument, more like an angry tirade) so don't bother pointing any of that out. You know what...perhaps it's just better if I just stay out of discussing religion and politics because as the past has shown, I have rarely, if ever, made a good point/case/argument.
