hey you, yeah you, come closer, come here and let me stare into your eyes i know it sounds weird, but just stay with me for a moment because as i gaze into your eyes i begin to realize just why it is that we fall in love. we don't run in love, jump in love, swim in love, ******** in love no we fall in love ever wonder why that is well I've been doing some thinking on the subject and have come up with some hypothesis maybe it's because like a fallen man we are at the mercy of the person that stands above us our aggressor, our defender, our enemy, our lover whoever it is that caused our fall and we pray that we don't get stomped all over but if we do, we just hope that we don't break anything. maybe the reason we fall is more about movement love is dynamic, always moving, stagnant love isn't love, its contentment, and a falling person well they're moving all the time. because when you stop moving, you aren't really falling anymore. which brings me to yet another possibility maybe the reason we use the verb fall to describe the act of our coming into love has something to do with the end result. because when you are done falling the outcome is usually not very good you feel pain, sorrow, melancholy, regret, even anger just like when you are done loving it's like they say, it isn't the fall that kills you, its the sudden stop at the end. of course the reason we fall could have something to do with just how it is we move into love either face first, with eyes wide open seeing all that could be or falling backwards, blindly and just hoping it works out OK. well whatever the reason as i stand here peering into your eyes i think I'm falling for you right now but please don't catch me, because maybe the reason we say we're falling is because falling the closest we ever really come to flying.
