It is not a debating thread on seeing who's religion is better. Discussion of religion and how u decided to be in that path of your belief. So don't poke anyones eye out.

I was brought up as a Catholic for 20 years but after seeing what I've seen and studying the sciences I now worship one thing as my god -- the scientific method.
Any form of religion that requires a uncritical belief in something tends to bother me. It's like you're being told -- being controlled -- that doesn't sit well with me. I want to make MY path, make MY way. In science, there is no concrete truth, it only approximates the truth -- it's a learning, evolving, self-correcting system. That in and of itself, makes it worth it's salt. sweatdrop

well i'm buddhist but i really don't really go to temples or pray daily or often
to me it's strange being buddhist cause i feel i'm the only buddhist in my school everybody else is catholic or jewish so they think that i'm that too (which i'm not) so when they ask me what's my religion, i tell they i'm buddhist and they seem to be surprised

Let see. I'm buddhist I was raised that way. 3nodding More of buddhism blended with the chinese gods. 3nodding Though I did have my stages where I drifted away to agnostic and atheist but I found my way back to where I started out. 3nodding
I love how you don't have to go to temple weekly or anything. 3nodding Just praying on selected days at home. 3nodding

I'm a self-confessed agnostic. I believe in god and occassionally read the bible, but I hate going to any church. I guess I have a bit of an evangelistic belief because I went to a catholic primary school and was once a part-time member of Jehovah's Witnesses. After I went to High School, I quit the organization.
My family's not really considered to follow any religion, certainly not Buddhism.
