Please do not post in this thread unless you have sent a profile and I have given it the OK! 3. As always, feel free to take any liberties in my roleplay <3 4.

Summary: (Since my pre-story is somewhat long, I wrote a summary and if you like the summary-read the prestory <3) WARNING: This is YAOI! But before you go eww, men! Just read the little summary..tis yayful!

Two lifelong best friends have a huge misunderstanding that ends with them being more like enemies than friends. Both Darren(mine) and X(yours-give him a name) miss each other terribly, but neither will admit it since neither really understands the situation, namely the rumors that were spread about X being 'gay'. X surfs the web one day and finds a website called 'Switcheroo' it contains necklaces that supposedly switch bodies..he thinks it's a joke and ends up bringing them to school, wearing one and pocketing the other. And then Darren gets ahold of one and to tease X, puts it on..and when next their eyes open, both boys are looking at..themselves!

~Prestory~

Darren McNeil and X (your character, give him a name) have been friends since they were three years old. X took a tumble in the playground, and Darren, big for his three years, helped X up and gave him a hug when X cried over having a cut. The respective mothers met and a friendship was borne. After that, they were inseperable as they grew up together, protective and trouble-making, they hated to be apart and loved being together. Freshman year passed happily, but freshman summer was another story..

Darren was a regular Mr. Popularity. Charming, witty, strong, handsome, considerate, and polite for the parents, people were drawn in by his natural good nature. X on the other hand, while cute and getting better grades than Darren, was far from an athelete and was generally more shy and reserved around others. With Darren, X was lively and mischevious, willing to take on any dare. It was without him that X became the 'freak'. That summer, the roles had become more defined and Darren got himself a girlfriend named Silvia. He thought himself to be in love and she was amazingly sweet to him. But she didn't like X at all since he took so much of Darren's attention and she hated 'freaks'. So she spread a little lie that X was gay around the school, a flaming queer who'd gotten dirty with his cousin. And as humans often do, they took the side of the more 'popular' invdividual, always eager for a bit of scandal. So that when sophomore year started, the talk amongst the halls was Darren's 'gaywad' friend.

X had tried to contact Darren after the rumors, but Silvia had answered and stated that Darren didn't want to talk to him and had been the one to tell her the rumors in the first place. And then Darren's voice came in the background, talking sweetly to Silvia since he had no idea she was on the phone and he hadn't heard the rumors yet. X was stunned, mistaking Darren speaking to her as confirmation of his knowledge of what was going on and therefore taking it to mean that he approved of the rumors..and he wanted to keep away from X and had indeed started the rumors..(you can decide if X knows he's gay yet or not) either way, he's heart broken thinking that his best friend did all of this, trying to hurt him and he doesn't understand why..and after getting over the initial pain, (or pushing it aside to be more accurate) he gets angry.

Darren, finally finding out about what's been going on, breaks up with Silvia for being a lying tramp and tries to call X but the other won't return his calls and X's mother slammed the door in his face when he tried to come over..and then school started. He found X in the hallway and tried to talk to X, but X was hurt and angry and they ended up getting in a verbal arguement founded on misunderstanding. After that, Darren joined the football team which further increased his popularity and furthered the growing gap between him and X. When they passed in the halls, it started out just sort of ignoring each other..until one day, Darren caught a group of boys beating X up, calling him a 'f**' and a 'queer'. Darren enters the fight and ended up with a black eye after getting the boys away, X is surprised and grateful, but as Darren scolds him (he was worried) X takes it the wrong way and fight starts again as X punches Darren in the face despite his smaller size, and tells him, "I don't need your help, a**hole. I hate you!"

Darren is hurt, and rightly so and the event sparks a major change in things. From now on, rather than just coldly ignoring each other in the halls, Darren mocks X along with everyone else. At one point, he even shoved X into a locker though he 'accidentally' left it unlocked. The truth was, being hurtful to X was killing him, but X's mean demeanor hurt too..and X of course took it as further proof of Darren's betrayal..

One day as he surfed the web, he found a sight called 'Switcharoo'. It seemed like a funny joke, order this joint necklace, (a half and half pair of necklaces, like a cracked heart) put one on yourself and one on the other..and just switch. The only way it could be undone is if the necklaces are willing joined by putting the charms together, and both sides have to agree. He decided not to try it, amused but disbelieving..only the next morning, he awoke to find a box containing the necklaces inside, each necklace containing half of a circle and bolt that would form a circled lightning bolt when put together. Somewhat confused, he pocketed one necklace and put the other on before heading to school. That day, he ends up in the locker rooms as Darren heads by. His jacket had been lying on the bench and as Darren stepped forward, he bumped the jacket and watched as the necklace fell out. With a smirk, he dangled it in front of X and teased him about it as X angrily tried to grab it back, although it was out of his reach from the far taller, more muscular boy. And then Darren laughingly pulled the necklace over his head. He felt an odd tugging sensation, and then the world went black..and as he awoke, he found himself staring up at..himself.~

~Prestory End~

~Important information~

~Yes, they have now switched. Darren is stuck inside of X's more childish form, and X is trapped within Darren's manly form. (X isn't too childish, he's obviously a high schooler and whatnot, just somewhat short and scrawny) Obviously, neither wanted the change..but X sees this as a golden opportunity to turn the tables. To let Darren see how it feels to be the weak one, the freak..and even if he won't admit it, he also sees this as a chance to be near the best friend he's missed these past few years. (this is nearing the end of senior year) Darren is mortified by all of this, he'll want to be changed back and X will refuse, not telling Darren about the necklaces or how to fix things, deciding that when he wanted his body back, he'd switch them back. Until then, they both knew enough about each other to pass as each other, and he should threaten to never switch them back if Darren tries to tell about what happened or mess with X's life.~

~As for the love <3. Depending on whether you made X know he is gay yet or not, you can decide if he loves Darren yet or not. Otherwise they'll be falling in love throughout the story (or realizing the love that was already there as it were) Darren is the captain of the football team, immensely popular, beloved by women and admired by men. X is a freak, especially after the 'homo incident' and everyone in school thinks he's a flaming queer and an incestuous type. X will be enjoying his 'revenge' since they won't find out about their misunderstanding for awhile, but should also sympathize and protect/offer comfort to Darren when he deems it necessary. They'll sleep over at each other's houses, but only when X wants to, and anytime he wants Darren to do something or not do something, his threat should be that he won't change them back, or he could use a physical threat. He should shove Darren into a locker at least once to 'show him how it feels'. Eventually they will shift back, by then they should be in love. But once they're in love, he shouldn't just switch them back, not until a little into senior summertime. (which is a couple weeks away) ~

Darren McNeil smirked down at James, a.k.a. Jaime, although, Darren had free reign to call James whatever he liked, or at least, that's the way it was when they still called each other 'best friend. He still called James that, out of reach of hearing. The other had been in the locker room when Darren had entered, somehow they always seemed to meet that way, unintentionally. The bell would ring any moment and signal the end of a Friday, ushering in the glorious weekend. A weekend that he and James used to devote to each other when they'd been best friend. He didn't know what they were now, he missed his best friend of course, but James didn't seem to miss him..and he saw a lot of the other, considering they had every class except second period together. One of life's funny little quirks, like having his best friend seem to hate him for no reason, hurting Darren over and over until he decided to reciprocate. Except that Darren was stronger, he had more options.

Like the time he'd shoved James into a locker after one of their particularly bitter fights. He'd felt guilty, and he had made sure to leave the locker unlocked so that the other could easily get out. Darren had a temper and he knew it, but he'd always been the best about keeping it in check around James. He really only lost it on James if James worried him, like the time James decided to climb across a rather high wall..and then the other had fallen, Darren had caught him of course, at the cost of a large cut in his right arm. Darren had been furious with James for nearly hurting himself, not caring that he'd been cut..in the end, they headed back to Darren's house and James patched Darren's arm up and by nighttime, they were curled up on the couch flicking popcorn at each other and watching movies.

And now? He dangled the silver necklace with it's half piece above Jame's head and out of his reach. It was clearly a couple's necklace and he was certain James was wearing the partner necklace. Who was he planning on giving the half Darren had taken to? Had he found a new best friend, or a lover even? With a flicker of jealousy and hurt, he taunted the other, "What's wrong, short stuff?" the former endearment seemed mocking now. Back then, the size difference had never been an issue when they were close. Darren teased James for being shorter, and James teased Darren for being a giant and it was all in good fun. James called him 'the giant', and he called James 'short stuff'. And Darren's three years older brother, Maddix, called them both squirts. Maddix was like a brother to James, and he'd played with Darren and James despite being older than them many times, tickle torture was a common game and several times he'd helped Darren dry James's tears. Even after the fight with Darren, Maddix always answered James's calls and kept their remaining friendship secret from Darren. James meanwhile had a year younger sister named Sorcia, who played with them from time to time and was accepted for her tomboyish ways and remarkable ability to charm her way out of trouble. They were surprisingly close, and Sorcia had always defended him fervently anytime someone tried to insult James or pick on him. Obviously being defended by his little sister hadn't pleased James, but they loved each other and he'd do the same for her in a heart beat.

"Well? Can't reach your pretty widdle necklace shorty?" He snickered, hating himself, but unable to fight past his anger, jealousy, and hurt. "Let's see.." Darren snatched James's wrist, holding it tight to prevent the other from reaching for the necklace as he slipped it over his own neck. He laughed before frowning, his brow furrowing in confusion at the tingling erupting throughout his body. And then there came a whoosh and a cold feeling as darkness clouded his vision..and when he opened his eyes he said in confusion, "What-" Darren cut off, hearing a voice that was as familiar to him as his own..but certainly not his voice. His eyes trailed up the arm that appeared to be his, an arm smaller than his ever was..an arm that was being held by a hand, Darren's hand..except it wasn't with him..he looked up further to see his own eyes looking down at him, seeming surprised as well. The eyes of the body he was in, James's body, widened at the sight of his own face staring into..the face he had now? "J-James?" James's youthful voice spoke, betraying surprise and confusion, and something like anxiousness.

Jaime glared at Darren as he was being taunted. It was all he could do to stop from lunging at him, like a tiger pouncing at its prey. Ever since Darren became "Mr. Popular," Jaime had developed a sort of hatred for him. No...not really for him. But rather for what he had become. Darren wasn't the same person that Jaime used to know...he wanted to old Darren back, but it seemed as though that would never happen. Seeing him every day, in almost every class period, killed him a little more inside knowing that things would never be the same.

And so with the hatred for what Darren had become, Jaime grew a little darker, a little angrier. Inside, though, he was screaming, wishing he could have just a taste of his old life. But as the glint of the shining necklace caught his eye, Jaime was reminded of all the hurtful things that Darren had done. He joined in on the taunting by the other guys, pushed him in lockers...humiliated him. Why? Because he had to save face. And that made him hate what Darren had become even more.

James narrowed his eyes, and a growl nearly escaped his tightened lips as Darren continued to taunt him. He knew how much Jaime was bothered by his height, yet he constantly threw it in his face. As Darren's muscular hand gripped Jaime's more feeble wrist, he tried to break the hold. Moment's later, he realized that it was no longer him being held, but rather his hand grasping a smaller wrist. Opening his eyes and beginning to focus, James fell back, tripping over the bench behind him as he saw his own body looking back at him, bewildered. Hearing his own voice calling his own name only added to the confusion. Scrambling to get up off the floor, he caught his reflection in the mirror. Only...it wasn't his reflection. It was Darren's. Looking back at Darren, Jaime felt the panic rise within him. "Ho...ly...hell..." he said quietly, still in shock, barely even noticing it was Darren's deeper voice escaping from his lips. He felt his knees go shaky, and he sat down on the bench, cupping his...no...not his...Darren's face in his hands. "This can't be happening," he whispered to himself, shaking his head in disbelief.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 25, 2008 6:35 am

Darren was staring wide-eyed as the scene played out. James had stumbled over a bunch, clumsy kid, and then he was looking in the mirror. The reflection was Darren, even though it was James looking in. And then his voice came from the other..what was going on? James seemed surprised, but then, this had to be James's doing somehow didn't it? He stepped around the bench and stood looking down at his sitting former best friend with a frown. "James..what is this? You had to have done this..somehow.."

His brow furrowed as he considered it, but he couldn't find an explanation for how such a thing might have happened. People diidn't just switch bodies, that was crazy. And yet, here they were..Darren felt a flicker of nervousness arise in him, what if this was permanent? "Damnit James," his tone sharpened a little in his increasing anxiety, he pushed his own hands aside and poked the forehead back to make James look at him as he narrowed his eyes on the other, "What did you do?"

James rose from the bench, towering over Darren. Though...he had to admit, this was a nice change. Even so, his temper was flaring after receiving the prod to the forehead. Of course Darren would blame him. "So this is my fault?" he growled angrily. "Naturally you would say that. Because you never do anything wrong, do you, Mr. Popularity?" Normally, Jaime wouldn't be so confrontational, but with this stronger body, he already felt more confident. "If you hadn't been acting like a pompass jerk, maybe this wouldn't have happened!" James continued to look down at Darren, trying to make him feel as small as the other had made him feel sometimes.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 25, 2008 2:32 pm

Darren blinked in surprise and took a step back as James rose. Unease flickered across his expression as he listened, looking up at his own body which now towered over him. At the last bit, his eyes narrowed again, "So you did do this!" And the other words hung in his mind..was that what James thought of him? 'Mr. Popularity', 'pompass jerk', was that what he'd been thinking all along? Why he seemed to hate Darren..? Did James really not understand that he acted as he had because of James? His temper too, but still..

He continued to look up at James, and a new feeling came over him..he felt small looking up at himself..doubtless James had felt that way before, he could sympathize a bit more feeling it now..he'd been tormenting James about his height a lot lately, instead of defending James as he'd used to. Still feeling uneasy, not to mention short, he frowned up at James, "You can't keep us this way anyway! My body is mine, you'd better undo whatever this is!" The tone was becoming angry again, he really did have a poor temper sometimes.

James stood, clenching and unclenching his fists. "This is not my fault!" he retorted angrily. "And don't you think that if I knew how to undo this I would?" He knew nothing about these necklaces. All he knew is what he had read, and then they magically appeared earlier that morning. James dropped back down onto the bench, head in hands and still in disbelief. Exasperated, he shook his head. "Maybe...maybe if we switch necklaces that will switch us back," he suggested, trying to regain control over his flaming temper.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 25, 2008 2:59 pm

Darren watched the fists clenching and unclenching, the very hands he'd done the same with so often before. "I don't know, would you?" His tone had a sarcastic edge and he looked away, trying to think more reasonably. The other dropped back down and he glanced to James, "Necklaces?" His eyes widened, "That's right! I put on the necklace..and then switcheroo." Darren reached his hand to the necklace, intending to pull it off but the moment he touched it, there was a little hissing sound as the necklace sparked and burnt his palm a little. "Ow!"

He jerked his hand back, looking at the palm which had a slight burn on it, to the necklace that smoked slightly before settling. His brow furrowed as he frowned down at it, reaching a hesitate finger simply to poke it, and nothing happened..realization dawned on him. "Touching it doesn't matter..but trying to take it off..it won't let me." Wouldn't let him? Since when did necklaces allow or not allow anything? Then again, when did they switch bodies either?

A new wave of anxiousness came over him as he looked to James with a nervous flicker in his expression as he spoke worriedly, "Jaime, we aren't stuck this way are we?" He hadn't called the other Jaime in ages, since he knew the other preferred it over James and he'd been trying to antagonize the other. And he certainly hadn't used any endearment terms or nicknames.

Jaime turned his head up sharply with narrowed eyes at Darren's snide comment. Like he would ever want to be Darren... He looked away trying to hold his tongue as Darren reasoned out loud what James just had in his head. His attention was caught once again, though, as Darren burned himself. "What the hell...?" he breathed.

Jaime's brow furrowed as Darren tested the necklace out a bit. "A necklace is an inanimate object. How can it not let you?" he said with a bit of coldness in his voice. As crazy as it sounded, he was right. Jaime had just seen what it did.

Jaime's cold, angry expression softened a bit when he heard the concern in Darren's voice...and when he called him Jaime. Looking up at Darren with the same worried and bewildered expression, he shook his head. "I...I don't know, Darren," he said quietly.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 25, 2008 3:24 pm

Darren had heard the coldness and the question, but James had seen exactly what he had. The necklace had stopped him from taking it off, it had bloody burnt him. And at the quiet response to his last question, Darren's eyes widened slightly, "But we-" He cut off and looked upwards as the bell rang, signaling the end of school. There was silence, and then he could hear doors opening and closing, watching as the locker room door came open as people headed through to use the exit door that led to one of the parking lots.

Most people ignored them, but three large boys, all dressed in the same football jersey that Darren's body was wearing (albeit with different numbers) Derrick, Kyle, and Rex. Derrick in particular had often tormented Jaime, well aware of the friendship that 'used' to exist between his football captain Darren and the little runt. And he was a huge homophobe, which only made his cocky, rude nature worse. He smirked and said mockingly, "Come on shrimp, go annoy someone else." He grabbed hold of the backpack on 'Jaime's' back, lifting it to shove Darren aside.

Darren felt to the ground with a little oomph and looked up, seeming both surprised and angry. He'd never been treated that way before. As for Derrick, he hated the b*****d, and tolerated him since he was on the team and he needed everyone cooperating to keep things going smoothly. But Derrick was one of the people he'd never helped hurt Jaime, usually he dissuaded the other with cool comments like 'come on, we have better things to do'. Neutral things that usually got Derrick to stop, but without seeming like he was deferential to Jaime.

Kyle and Rex laughed as Darren fell, thinking it was Jaime the whole time. And Derrick looked to Jaime, thinking he was Darren as he grinned and held out his hand to high five 'Darren'. "Dare Man," Darren's schoolwide nickname and the name on the back of his jersey since aside working for his name, he'd gotten quite a reptuation on a dare to sneak into the school at night, take the principal's toupe, and then set it on the statue in the front of the school of a warrior on a horse representing their mascot, the Trojans. He'd set the toupe on the warrior's head and sat on the horse until the next day as a beginning the year prank Sophomore year which had only further cemented his popularity.

Derrick continued, "What's up man? Me and some of the other guys are heading down to Jack's Parlor for some pizza, you up for it?" Jack's Parlor was bascially the high school hangout, food, fun, drinks, and often entertainment in the form of random fights or things like that.

Seeing the way he was treated from the outside made Jaime even angrier. He stared the three guys down, and refused to return the high five. Rising to his feet, Jaime's face was filled with anger towards Kyle, Rex, and especially Derrick. All he wanted to do was pummell all three of them, knowing now that with Darren's body, he could take them.

"No, you guys go," Jaime said gruffly. It took everything he had inside to not lunge at the three of them. But he didn't want to put Darren in a bad spot with the team once they got switched back. He might not have liked what Darren had become, but...deep down...he still cared about him.

Jaime turned away from his teammates and reached down, helping Darren off the ground. "You alright?" he asked quietly.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 25, 2008 3:44 pm

(I havfta go to work, I'll be back in like..four and half hours! Haha, if you aren't on, then goodnight! <3)

The teammates seemed surprised by his gruff answer and demeanor. Derrick shrugged, "Suit yourself, later Dare." With that, all three shuffled out and headed outside. Most students were gone now save for the occasional wanderer.

Darren watched Jaime speak to them, turning them down before turning to him. He blinked in surprise as he was helped off the ground. Why was Jaime helping him? Darren nodded as he stood, "As good as can be expected given the circumstances." Being trapped in his best friend's body. He tugged on the clothes Jaime had been wearing straightening them and adjusting the backpack as he muttered, "Stupid arseholes." Darren considered that a moment before looking up at James, "What about you..? Are you..alright?" James hadn't been pushed down, but he was still stuck with an out-of-body experience as well.

((Yea I'll be in bed most likely...gotta open the store at 7 am tomorrow...ick!))

Jaime stared the guys down as they left, but then turned his attention back to Darren. He helped him straighten out, giving a single chuckle at the "stupid arseholes" comment...something Jaime thought about those guys every day. When Darren turned the tables on him, asking if he was alright, Jaime put on a strong face and shrugged. "As good as can be expected," he said, basically repeating what Darren said, smirking slightly at the end. Truthfully, though...it hurt to see how the humiliation looked from the outside.
PostPosted: Tue Nov 25, 2008 8:33 pm

(O_O Holy snarglecopters! T___T *pats head and givez you a cookie*)

Darren heard the single chuckle and was relieved Jaime seemed to have a little humor intact. At the strong face and shrug, coupled with the smirk, he frowned. He knew his friend better than that. "Thanks..for not doing anything..I know you were probably itching to knock those guys out." A way to tiptoe around the truth, that Jaime was probably hurt by seeing those guys. And he was grateful too, because it would have caused a lot of trouble if Jaime had confronted them.

((yea, and what sucks is that its 20 til 12 and I'm not tired at all...lol))

Jaime nodded in response to the gratitude. "Not a problem," he said. "I'll be honest...it took everything in me to hold back, but..." Jaime dropped off a bit and rubbed the back of his neck. "Look, we've been through a lot...and I...I just didn't want to cause you any problems when we get switched back."
