New to the whole drawing thing...

So, I've never considered myself an artist, but I decided to give it a shot. This is the result. I've drawn myself three times over...in different styles. I've come to learn that if I draw something freestyle, it comes out crap. Absolutely terrible. If I draw it based off another image, I imitate their style and make something passable. But I have no style of my own...

This was done using a #2 mechanical pencil on a normal piece of printer paper, scanned in on my scanner I bought from the campus store. sweatdrop

I have my scanner set to export scanned images into MS paint. I resize it in paint only by about 55% depending on the desired scan.

For resizing you might want to scan it at a higher dpi and then down convert to 72 while keeping the pixel aspect.
