What is your hair like at the moment?

I've done dreads before for an ex boyfriend and also made dread extensions for myself, so I might be able to help.

You know where I can get hold of any wax (the stuff that holds it in place)?

Well when I lived with my mom, there was this old hippy who lived in our driveway in a trailer. (hahahaha) He had dreads, and I know he washed his hair with baking soda to dry out his hair and mat it together. Well here you can get the wax stuff anywhere, drug stores, wal-mart (ewww), ect...

Because I never brush my hair I get little natural dreads in my hair. So does my hair twin, but when mine get really bad I comb them out, and he doesn't.

But yea, I'm not much help.

make sure that you are constantly waxing and keeping them round in the early stages. i had dreads for about a year and by the end no one beleived i actually had them without touching them; they had all been flattened so badly through sleeping on them and stuff, that it just looked like i was wearin a hood made of felt

Savage.

I've known people's who just went really thin and manky at the top and started falling out because they weren't looking after them. If it gets to that stage I think it's best just to cut them off.

I've never heard of that happening before though!

if you just stop combing it, they develope naturaly in about a year. you can wash it, just dont use conditioner. thats the natural style of growing dreds, when you just stop caring about your hair but want to keep it clean and out of the way.
