Does anyone get or read Shounen Jump? Wanted to discuss some things in it like what do you think of Ulitmo?

I sometimes buy SJ, though I mostly just buy books for the individual series that I like.
I've read the first chapter of Ultimo and it doesn't interest me.

I like the art style for Ultimo...but feel Stan"The Man"Lee may be phoning it in. Or maybe he is sticking to familiar territory since it is his first foray into manga. I decided to resurrect this dead thread because I am sad that Shojo Beat is no longer going to be published. As Shonen Jump's sister title it offered the other half of Japanese comic culture and had potential to show the diversity of the medium. Here in MT it actually outsold Shonen Jump at most places it was offered, I only buy Shonen Jump for an individual issue...or as camo for my Shojo Beat, cause pink print isn't manly and I get tired of answering questions from ignorant cashiers. Anyway, feel free to comment about anything related...I liked Honey and Clover and Rosario + Vampire but the whole thing was well done so I would love to hear feedback.

How do people feel about yen press doing something similar to Shonen Jump? It's been out for several issues so I just thought to ask since several of the titles in it are starting to pop up on dvd or as cosplay at cons. My friend went to a con as Death the kid from Soul Eater and two of the other titles have dvds out so I would say they picked titles with decent tie in potential as it is hard to establish yourself without a few titles that people have heard of. I personally like that they include manhwa (korean comics) even tho it makes for an odd format. (half of the book is left to right, half is opposite) I thought of making a new thread for this, but it made sense to include similar publications under this thread

I haven't really read Shonen Jump...I can't really get into the titles. I tried to read Shoujo Beat, though, but the only series I liked in it was Nana. ^^'

Yeah that's a problem with a lot of those....It can be hard to make it worth it...ESPECIALLY since you can easily get it online for free. Not to mention I'd rather spend money on clothes and such. Although I like spending money on Anime better, because I can share it with others ^_^;

Although I like spending money on Anime better, because I can share it with others ^_^; I really need to spend more money on clothes...instead I spend it on video games! And books. ^^' But they're so fun...why can't I be fashionable AND a geek? Once I have a job...
