diffrerence is just meaning... in spanish both verbs are tranlated the same into english

saber = to know
conocer = to know

We will use "saber" or "conocer" depending of the meaning we want to give to our sentence.

Pleased to know you = encantado de conocerle (conocer)...something which i did not know in the past but i am learning now.

I dont know = Yo no se (saber)... something generic... is not in my
knowledge.


Also "saber " can be used with meaning of taste...such as this apple taste sweet = esta manzana sabe dulce
