GETBACKERS:The series tells the story of Ginji Amano and Ban Mido, a pair of superpowered individuals known as the GetBackers. The duo operates a freelance repossession service out of one of the seedier areas of Shinjuku, Tokyo. For a fee, they will recover any lost or stolen item for a client with "a 100% success rate". The GetBackers' job often leads them into bizarre and dangerous situations in order to "get back what shouldn't be gone". Their targets range from lost video games to misplaced components of an atomic bomb. The plot mostly revolves around their adventures, often complicated by the pair's convoluted, individual pasts and a mysterious place known as the Limitless Fortress.

A conglomeration of disused, condemned buildings clustered together to form a self-contained habitat, Limitless Fortress is subdivided into three specific tiers – Lower Town, the Beltline and Babylon City. Lower Town is the lowest in altitude, with several layers extending below ground level. The Beltline, the most dangerous area of The Limitless Fortress, is ruled by Der Kaiser, Ban's father. The citizens of the Beltline are said to be immortal and imperishable, and they "will rise back from the dead everytime they are attacked". Those in the Beltline have a hideous death-like appearance and a frightening strength.[citation needed] Babylon City, the upper most level of the Limitless Fortress, is said to be where the Brain Trust resides, and is the home of Ginji's mother. In actuality, Babylon City is what one might consider the real world, with everything else being a virtual reality creation. Only those who have won the Ogre Battle may enter Babylon City and when that happens, they can change the world as they see fit.

Characters:
The main characters of the series is a rescue team called GetBackers. The team is primary composed by Ban Mido and Ginji Amano but as the series progresses supporting members are added to the team. Each member of the team possesses individual mysterious abilities that aid them in their many recovery missions.

Ban Mido is a primary member of the rescue team. He used to belong to a gang composed by Himiko Kudo and Yamato. At some moment, Ban killed Yamato without a reason given and later when entering into the Limitless Fortress, he fought against Ginji Amano, who would later become his best friend. Ban's powers include the "Snakebite", a skill which gives his hands a grip of 200 kilograms-force, and the "Evil Eye", an ability to induce minute-long hallucinations on the target of his choosing.Ban is very intelligent, having studied fighting techniques, science, history, and magic from a very young age as a result of being hunted in Europe by shamans during childhood, and he surprises everyone with his knowledge more often than not. Because he is a direct descendant of the Witch clan, and being born under the star of Asclepius, he possesses incredible superhuman strength, which gives him a gripping force of 200 kgf in each hand. It is also shown that he is strong enough break open the doors of an armored steel truck and punch hard enough to create large craters in the ground or break walls; occasionally even collapsing multi-storied buildings. While powering up to 100 percent, the ghost-like outline of a giant snake can be seen surrounding him, although just as frequently, when he utilizes this attack, a single wing will appear above his right arm as he strikes. This occurred during his battles with Lucifer and then later during the Ogre Battle with Ginji. At full power, his right hand becomes that of a dragon's claw.

Ginji Amano is a primary member of the rescue team and also the former leader of a gang called "The VOLTS" in the Limitless Fortress. He received the title "Lightning Emperor" because of his ability to control electricity and because he was the ruler of the entire Lower Level of the Limitless Fortress. Amano can also generate enormous amounts of electrical energy. When Ginji left the Limitless Fortress by unknown reasons, the group was divided and some of the members try to survive without Ginji.

Fist of the North Star:Set in a post-apocalyptic version of Earth sometime near the end of the 20th century, a nuclear war has left the world in ruins, causing the oceans to evaporate and destroy most of the world's vegetation. Most of earth's survivors include villagers who try to thrive on what little resources they have and the numerous vicious gangs and tribes who prey on them. A martial artist named Kenshiro, a man with seven scars on his chest and the chosen successor of the legendary assassin's art Hokuto Shinken has sworn to protect the weak and innocent from the malicious gangsters that threaten their survival. Accompanied by two young children named Bat and Lin, Ken confronts numerous violent gangs through his journey. Eventually Ken faces his adoptive brothers who were also trained in the art of Hokuto Shinken, as well as the six top masters of the Nanto Seiken school. His ultimate adversary is his eldest brother Raoh, a would-be world conqueror who broke the Hokuto Shinken law by refusing to give up the style.

Several years after Ken defeats Raoh, he returns to help his former sidekicks Bat and Lin, now leader of the Hokuto Army, to fight off against the tyranny of the Heavenly Emperor's Army led by the Acting Governor Jakoh. Not long after Jakoh's defeat, Lin is kidnapped and Ken is forced to travel to the Land of Shura to rescue her, a land of warriors ruled by Kaioh, who uses the style of Hokuto Ryūken, The North Star Lapis Lazuli Fist), a malicious counterpart to Ken's Hokuto Shinken. After defeating Kaioh and rescuing Lin, Ken wanders off into the desert, continuing his journey.

Full Metal Panic:The main story develops its characters carefully, and is the shadow or "unusual" events of the protagonist's life. These stories feature the mercenary group Mithril, their mobile base/submarine, called the TDD-1 Tuatha De Danaan, giant humanoid powered suits called Arm Slaves, and the various missions to which Sousuke Sagara is assigned. A highlight of the series is a serious and semi-realistic view of humanoid robotic weapons on the battlefield. The Arm Slave has significant consideration in its portrayal, with explanations given for its power source, operations, maintenance and pilot user interface. The existence of such advanced weaponry and equipment is explained through Black Technology.
