i have an extremely old pair of knitting needles. they are white, or were till i used them to death, they are circulars, and i have a pair of 8's and a pair of 11's. they dont have any markings on them. can i get an estimate or at least a brand name?

Depending on how old they are they might be whale bone.....I know that might be a stretch but its a possibility. I have needles my from my great great grandmother that were bone and they are all white. Where did you get them from?
One way to find out their size is go to a craft store and get a gauge. They are usually pretty cheap...under $5.00. It will have a bunch of different sized holes and with sizes on the side.

I'm doubting whale bone since I'm unaware of anyone who made whale bone circulars. They're likely Boyd plastic circulars or another brand that has since gone under. Does the cord connect to the needles like one piece or is there a join? I can't tell you the brand, but I have used both and they were from the 70's-ish.
