Peace is but a shadow of death
Desperate to forget its painful past
Though we hope for promising years
After shedding a thousand tears
Yesterday sorrow constantly nears
As the vanishing voices from all those years
And while the moon still shines blue
By dawn, it will turn to scarlet hue
Red is the sky in a battle field
A fight were no one wish to yield
Hatred and anger devours ones mind
while pity and kindness wonders 'round
No one yet knows why they fought
cuz they were merely pawns who were bought
fight as they were ordered
slain while they were cornered
Heroes some have become
but villains be the out come.

I see all the faces staring at me
I can see it in their eyes
It is me who they despise
They see my outer appearance and not what is within
They don't know that what they say really gets under my skin.

I can hear the whispers full of torment,
that is meant for me
But they don't know that I am better than that
you see.

Now I will take all the
hatred,
all the teasing,
and put-downs
And turn my frown upside-down
Because I have a secret they can not see.
I won't let all this negativity get the best of me.

So I will keep my head up and my smiles bright.
Be who I am meant to be.
Because I won't let society get the best of me!

Why does it have to be this way?
Why is it that which we must say?
That when this is all over for,
our flame warms us never more.

I was but a mouse,
lured to your house.
You played the pipers song,
which soothed me for so long.

The moon which was seen,
our first night between.
Such a beautiful symbol,
showed me I am but a fool.

I can look at the moon no longer,
as I blow out the final dancing ember.
The wind of which you trapped me,
slows as the sea calms with a fee.

As I look now,
off the ships bow.
A new land I see,
has come to set me free.
