For all of your Shipping questions, list included! Hurrah! Yeah, if this seems annoying, go ahead and rid of it. If it's against a rule... delete it/ban me/something. I have it saved on Notepad. All of the hard work will not have gone to waste that way!


SO, WHAT IS "SHIPPING"?
Shipping comes from the word "relationship", meaning that you support a pairing, or 'ship. It's really popular in the Pokemon community, and has been for ages. Recently, people who like it have created new names for their ships and have paired up anyone they could possibly imagine. So it's a huge, jumbled list, but the most used ones are the ones amongst popular characters -- I mean, seriously, not many people are going to be "Ash + Molly = OTP!!1", it's probably just a joke -- though it's nice to have a reference.

WELL, EW, SOME OF THESE ARE GROSS.
Whatever floats your boat. What you may not like, others do, and vice versa. Also, don't go 'ship bashing. It's bad. (So I sort of put that in there for my stance, but seriously. No. Baaad.) It's common for your ship to clash with others. Ash/Misty Shippers tend to get at the necks of Ash/May Shippers. Things like that. Er, to the point, just accept the existence of some pairings and move on.

WHAT ARE THE WEIRD ONES, LIKE "JUNJOI"?
In Japan, they don't have "Lilacshipping" and such, so they just join the names of the two characters into one. Thus, Jenny and Joy (Junsai and Joi) become JunJoi/JoiJun. This can be done with almost any pairing, but I got lazy halfway through, so you won't see it on the list much.

THERE'S NO BEASTIALITY / THREESOME / EXTRA GYMLEADER PAIRINGS ON HERE!
Yes, for sanity reasons. Also, I don't really see a need to put down weird pairings, like James and his Victreebel, or Ash/Brock/Misty/Tracey/etc. (Ashorgyshipping? Something like that.) when they're unpopular, unused, and just insane. The Gymleaders, however, seem to have more support. I know some people fancy Lt. Surge with, say, Sabrina, or maybe Misty, or whatever. But if I put down every seperate Gym Leader, I'd go mad. If you're really curious, Google it.

Just post it in the thread, or PM me, or have a mod do it ... or something. We'll add it, since I know for sure I forgot a few million. I don't know them by heart. So go right ahead.

You know what's funny? I know several of the people that either created and/or named some of the more obscure ships, or the people that were the main supporters. And most of them were on pokemopolis. That sort of weirds me out.

I mean:

DarthMutatedBrock was a major Gymshipper (Unfornately she left before I got to know her) and had a site about it...

MysterySqueezit was a Kitchenshipper, Gymshipper AND a Hellshipper... in fact, I'm not certain, but I think she was the creator of Hellshipping... She's also probably the most renound Gymshippy writer on the web, you can find her stuff at fanfiction.net, and it's surely the best stuff there.

And Settou was basically was the creator of Thirdwheelshipping, gave it the other name Visionshipping, and once own a Website named "Visions" that was dedicated to the pairing....

....Yes. if you haven't noticed, there is a parttern here. I only really noticed the people on the forum that had an interest in Brock. With some exceptions. They had to atleast like him though.

Update: Just talked to Squeezit, and she told me DarthMutatedBrock and her were the ones that thought up Hellshipping, but DMB was the one that created the shrine to it. MysterySqueezit apparently just laughed at her evidence for it *sweatdrop*

Eitherway, I didn't realise Mopolis was so...prevailant in Pokemon culture o.o

I don't know much about Pokemopolis, but I do know that a lot of larger Pokemon communities had some of the 'ship starters in there. I actually know the girl who named "Palletshipping", but I didn't know of any of those. whee That's actually pretty nice to know!

Why? Because Haruka is the only woman (next to Jessie, of course) that is manly enough for James, and James is the only man girly enough for Haruka.

I always got this imagine in my head of James in his school girl uniform and Haruka in her male school uniform meeting and beginning to hit on one another, not knowing the other was really the opposite sex ....
