VIRUSES SUX

A day ago (or 2) I had a problem to deal with.
3 virus popups, 2 of which tried to edit the system registry.

It didn't even want me to shut down my computer.
And it prevented me from opening "windows task manager"
(said it couldn't open because it was infected too)

So I hit the black switch on the back of my computers power supply (only recommended in extreme emergencies) and shut the whole system (including external HDD) down all at once manually.

Lucky most of the crap was in RAM and didn't have time to save to the HDD.
Because I did a full system sweep with basic maintanence and didn't find anything. I say "most" because before I shut it down, I did lose one file that my Anti-virus told me about.

An "IEhelper.exe"
And I don't know whether it was an infected system file or a virus file that was just named that to trick people.
But sence it was just a helper for IE (if it even was a system file), then I won't worry about it.

I'm just glad to be back up and running, and nicely enough, running faster then I was before anyway ^.^

I'm always super paranoid of getting a virus or having my computer taken over. That's why I'm gonna get a MAC cuz like, MAC's never get viruses! rolleyes JK folks, JK

Dude: Sorry to hear that but glad you got that fixed before it became a real problem. Yeah, can't say I'm a fan of viruses either.

Bro: *nods* I know and I don't blame ya especially after that computer class I had man... Anyway, I know at least you're not one of those people that thinks that, you have brains. Have you decided which one you're going to get?

I'm glad I got it fixed too.
I was pacing my room for an hour and a half just waiting for the system scans to finish. Nothing gets me more nirvous then possibly having to reload the operating system.

Iakun: I'd like to get a mac, but the downside is that there are ALOT of windows specific programs that won't work on macs.
Or so I've heard. They may have alot of replacement programs for some of them, but I'd still be questioning if they're as good.

Oooh sounds nasty. Did you know that there are over 80000 new viruses a day? Sometimes I script viruses just for scripting practice, but I never save or send them. The last thing I need is the G-men coming after me for crashing everybody in Kansas' computers.

Luckily for me my computer usage habits don't really require anything windows specific. MAYBE photoshop, but even that has a mac version I hear.

And miller... why on earth do people keep making and sending out viruses. I mean this is just aggravating. I wonder if there would ever be a virus-free internet.
