What does the word "yiff" really mean?

Yes, I have been very confused with the true definition of the word "yiff" for a while now. Please provide what you think it is, so I have a better understanding of it. PLEASE, before my mind goes bonkers with confusion! O_O

I was pretty sure this was the deffinition, but I had to make sure it was. People were discussing it, but it had nothing to do with hot furry smexin', or so I thought X3.

yes thats one deffinition but it also is a sound alot of firries(mostly foxes, because real life foxes make the noise) make. and i agree, why be embarassed? most furries find the fandom like that. i mean most furries draw themselves or others "yiffing" pluss its kinda cool to actualy see furries doing something like that, well to me at least =^_^=

actually he has it wrong.

There are two deffinitions originally it was used to indicate "Excitement" (No not sexual excitement) look it up at http://www.wikifur.com/ (I think I got the url right if not you can always google wikifur ;] )

Later it was changed by newer members to what we now know as Yiff which like hentai is split into many sections mainly Straight or just "Yiff" then "Gay yiff" and "Lesbian yiff" it goes on and on really.

Yeah, "yiff" was originally the sound that foxes made, but then some guy in a chat room (or something like that) said it sounded like foxes mating, and that became the popular (though incorrect) definition.
