Armored Core: The Final Push (Paused)

God is force.

Forward

War continues to be waged on the Earth. But instead of soldiers armed with rifles, Giant machines called Armored Cores, are piloted by people known as 'Ravens'. They were the pinnacle of technology of one-manned robotics. The others fall under MTs, and NORMALs. One creation which was made to combat against the Armored Cores were the Arms Forts, created by individual corporations, and controlled by thousands of expendable soldiers.

The Earth is in Shambles, and humanity is still trying to survive. While most lived underground, or in the air. To most, the surface was too polluted and barren for people to survive. Most of the surface was polluted by Kojima, an energy that most technology used, which worked in the same way as radiation.

Those in the air were considered the 'privileged', as those underground had nowhere else to go.

Four years ago, a small, but detrimental war took place, which changed the way half of the population lived.

The ORCA Brigade, lead by one Maximillian Thermidore, wanted to bring the Cradles down. The energy being used for the Cradles was causing the pollution on the Earth to become even worse. Had it gone unchecked, it would bleed into the Atmosphere, causing the planet to decay.

In the ending phases of the war, known as 'The Closed Plan', all 12 official members were killed in battle, including Maximillian, before the cradles were brought down. It would normally have been the end of the fight, save one small problem.

There had been an unofficial member.

This unofficial member was an infamous LYNX who had many accomplishments under his belt, and was an unstoppable force, even at his beginning as a pilot.

He broke through the defenses put against him, and destroyed the Cradle generators, causing them to land on the ground.

Many, who were not prepared for the polluted air, died because of the weakness of their un-strained lungs...

The energy that had been being used by the Cradles, was diverted to an area where the second stage of the Closed Plan had been placed. Three Gigantic Anti-Satellite batteries.

Before the Cradles were created, the organizations, Rayleonard, GA America, GA Europe, Akvavit, Rosenthal, BFF, Omer Science, had been at war with one another ten years before then. In order to keep the others from gaining the upper hand, they launched lethal pods into space. These pods were called Assault Cells. So many were created, that they made travel into space impossible...

The Anti-Satellite Batteries were aimed at these Assault Cells, blowing a hole in the barrier, and granting humanity a new hope at survival. Outer Space.

Present day.

Four years have passed since the Cradles fell, and humanity has begun its slow, but steady move towards Outer Space once again.

The corporations left, GA America, BFF, Rosenthal, Omer Science, as well as those created after the Lynx War, and before the ORCA Brigade, Interior Union, TORUS, Cougar, and other Subsidiary companies, have began to pool their collective resources into one Uniformity. The League was left in shambles after the ORCA incident, and was cast aside.

Thus came the creation of Daemon.

While Daemon held the Corporations in a tight-knit group, they still had their petty squabbles, and continued to antagonize one another with their own small armed forces.

But what of the NEXTS?

After the ORCA incident, COLLARED fell into decline in the same fashion as The League and a new 'Den' was needed for the mercenary 'mediators'.

Fortunately, due to Daemon's drive, COLLARED was restored in its full glory.

Corporations and Subsidiary Corporations.

GA AMERICA: Global Armaments (GA America) is the world's largest corporation, centered around the economic hub of the Pacific Rim. An advocate of standard military company, their products have gained much praise due to their power and reliability in battle. They are not on good terms with Torus due to the sequence of events separating them from the former GAE. GA America are a manufacturer of high armored, heavy parts. Their weapons are characteristically heavy, with high ammunition capacity. They fire live ammunition, and feature quite high Attack Power ratings.

Arisawa Heavy Industries: A heavy industries company with a long tradition in the economic hub of the Pacific Rim. They specialize in a wide range of military vehicles and explosives, and the toughness of their products has gained them much praise in the field. Takafumi Arisawa, the 43rd president of the company, is also known for being a superior Lynx, making him the first company president to also see combat.

BFF: The Bernard and Felix Foundation is a European company that is known for their extremely precise weaponry.
They lost their top leadership in a devastating attack during the Lynx War, but were able to restore operations through the support of GA. Through nationalistic centripetal force they were able to regain their once lost assets and become the second largest company in the European region.

Couger: A military company that specializes in building rocket engines. They were once the leading company in the field, but recent years have fallen behind to companies specializing in Kojima rocket engines. Despite this, they are slowly closing the gap through strategic information and personnel planning. Like MSAC, they are also a complete subsidiary of GA.

MSAC International: A high-tech company that specializes in computer systems, sensors, and other electronic equipment. They are a complete subsidiary of GA, and due to their extremely high technology standards they single-handedly carry a large portion of the group's corporate value. They provide extremely specialized armaments, and control an overwhelmingly large share of the missile weaponry market.

OMER SCIENCE: Omer Science Technology is a West Asian military company with superior political power and high standing within both the League and Collared. Like Akvavit, they are one of two companies to find success developing Kojima Technology independently. They gained a firm technological advantage when they took in a number of engineers from Rayleonard after it fell in the Lynx War. They are in competition with TORUS over Kojima Technology.

Rosenthal: A military corporation once affiliated with The League, they have a tremendous amount of capital. They tend to hide in the shadows of Omer Science, but provide well-built, all-purpose, balanced weaponry. Their weapon designs are quite unique, and their name is well known across the world.

Aspina: Aspina is a NEXT technology research institution heavily affiliated with Omer Science Technology.

All other information of this Corporation has been classified.

INTERIOR UNION: Formed through the merging of Leonemeccanica and Melies, this corporation is Europe's number one high-tech firm. They boast as overall high level of technological prowess, and are by far the leading company in the field of laser technology. They also control the fossil fuel market, making them an extremely important company to GA.

TORUS: Supported by the Interior Union, TORUS is a startup company that was made the parent body of the former GAE. Through the acquisition of what remained of the now-destroyed Akvavit, they are able to utilize extremely specialized Kojima tech. As a strong successor of both GAE and Akvavit qualities, they are in fierce competition with Omer Science and are not good terms with GA either.

Aldra: Albrecht Drais (Aldra) is a heavy industries military company formed after separating from the Interior Union.
Aldra is known as the developer of complex actuators, as well as for their superior quality heavy weapons systems. Even though they did technically separate from Interior Union, they still maintain a good working relationship with one another.
Aldra produces various heavy weaponry and heavy armor frame parts for Nexts. As a former part of Leonemeccanica and later, the Interior Union, their parts are definitively geared towards synergizing with the Interior's energy weaponry and boosters. During the Lynx War, Aldra only produced a partial frame, which utilized Leone's main frame core part instead of an original core part. Later, Aldra would produce a full frame, complete both a biped or reverse-joint leg. They would also begin making weapons, notably two low impact, relatively light grenades, and a lighter weight bazooka.

Mission Procedure

Collared recieves the missions from their corporate clients and sends the data to Lynx suited for these missions.

When they select a possible mission, they are given a debriefing by the client's spokesperson. If they wish to do the mission, they accept it and carry on from there.

AC: Commander. A Middle-Weight carrying two high-powered machine guns in its hands, and two high-power grenade launchers on his back. He also carries a shoulder-piece capable of restoring any lost PA.
History: Seen as both a hero and a villain. Unfortunately, the majority of the world see him as the latter... He was the sole surviving ORCA member, and the one who brought the cradles back down to the ground. While most see him as a monster, a small few see him as someone who sacrificed much for the survival of humanity...
Extra: Origionally affiliated with GA, they had to cut him off of their list to save face, but they still favor him in the same way as they did before.

AC: Godsend. A Quad-Legged Middle Weight specializing in Long-Range Sniping, hence the two gigantic Sniper-Cannons on its back. It carried two expertly-crafted rifles in its hands.
History: During the Lynx War and the ORCA incident, Irish kept a low-profile, as to survive and keep his child alive. Now that the madness has passed, he has resurfaced, already noted as in the top five NEXTS. He and Wong Shao Lung are the very examples of why BFF is still respected and revered, even after the company's catastrophic losses. Outside the cockpit, he is a Priest, and School Principal.
Extra: He is one of the few that still respects Jarid, knowing what he did needed to be done.
His BFF peer, Wong Shao Lung, on the other hand, has only Animosity for Jarid...
Irish also has a daughter who is an aspiring NEXT.

History: Born with no mother in her life, and Irish being her father, Kelly never had any 'dull moments' in her life. It was hard to make a dull moment with a religious father who was also your school principal, which often made her a number one target for bullies and teasers. But anyone who gave her trouble was quickly silenced, both by her fists and punishments from her father as he was the principal and town priest. Then there was the whole part of her life where sometimes her father had no choice but to go out on missions in his suit.. Those times were always the best, and the worst.
After years of begging, bothering, pestering, and brown nosing, Kelly was finally granted her own AC as a graduation present from her father. Since then, it's been nearly impossible to keep her out of the cockpit.
Extra: Unlike her father, Irish, whom she sees as a religious whacko, Kelly is not the religious type. While she's not the 'anti-Christ', she does not buy into the word of God or anything relating to God, and has a wavering belief towards God. The presence of God hasn't been proven or disproven to her, so Kelly doesn't think about it, and generally hates to talk about it since it's something that relates to her father.
Seeing how Irish is the religious type, Kelly specifically made her AC demonic and Devilish just to spite him...Even at the cost of a beating.
Though she's not an 'anti-Christ', Kelly does feel a great amount of hatred towards Bibles...
Like her father, Kelly also feels no anger or hatred to Jarid. She feels nothing at all in fact. She merely sees what he had done as another mission, and not something worthy of fame or emotions of any kind.

History: A friend to the O'Neil family since Irish was merely dating his wife (when she was just a girlfriend back then), one could easily say Suzy has always been in the family picture. She was there to introduce the happy couple, there to watch them happily wed, there at the birth of their only child, there during the burial of the mother, and there to comfort Irish in his grief. But when Kelly began looking upon her as a mother figure, she stopped coming around, only seeing Irish in church or at work. Some said a relationship had formed, but the idea of mothership was far too serious for Suzy's tastes. Suzy personally says she just didn't want to distort the truth, and that she wanted Kelly thinking of her true mother as just that, rather than her. Whatever the real reason is depends on the eyes of the beholder.
When Kelly grew up, she began making regular appearances again. Frequently. And always to see Irish. Alone. If questioned, she just simply replies "Just checking up on an old friend, and studying the good book." Course, this is the answer given to Kelly... Anyone else: "Sex. Ya know, the 'friends with benefits'. And not those crap ones where it falls apart because someone messed it up by getting serious either. I mean the for REAL friends with benefits."
Extra: She's an active member in Irish's church. His leading Nun, in fact. She guides the other sisters, and provides help and guidance to others should Irish be too busy to work with them.
And like Irish, she's always carrying a bible on her. The one copy she owns and carries is has a solid steel build. The only thing that isn't steel is the pages.

Gobi Desert - 1800 Hours

The vast desert seemed to show no sign of an end in any direction. The silence alone was unbearable, but the sun looming overhead, as well as the lack of any life whatsoever would make it maddening on foot.

Along the sand, it became apparent it had been the site of many battles. In the distance of one direction, the wreckage of a giant, floating fortress known as Answerer laid, never to function again.

In another direction, A ruined city loomed over the sand as a testament to mankind's folly in its quest to become Gods in their own right.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake.

Something suddenly shot by the ruins, causing one of the buildings to collapse.

An AC, driven by a Vangard OverBooster shot by both ruins.

The AC, was registered to one Jarid, was named Commander.

The head seemed to be focused on the wreckage, as if lost in thought.

"...Is something wrong?" A mechanical voice asked aloud, a hint of concern in its tone.

"...No...Just a ghost from my past..." Jarid replied, the head returning to looking straight ahead.

"Good. It wouldn't do well if you were shot down NOW...Besides. You have MANY ghosts now..."

"Yes...I am aware..."

"We are currently Five Hundred miles away from the target. At our current speed, we will arrive in five minutes."

"And the situation?"

"Unknown. They sent another Pilot there before you, and you're going in to back them up...More than likely, they've screwed up..." the voice said with a mechanical sigh.

"Just be glad you get to do something."

"You should be glad anyone even GIVES you missions after what you've done..."  

[Randomly Gone Insane]

"I hate you for this..." Kelly groaned into a microphone, watching a large screen dully as some stupid factory was being attacked, which was some stupid Irish b*****d wouldn't let her join in on because he's a stupid b*****d with a stupid suit and a stupid mind and a stupid, stupid, stupid Bible.

"I still don't see why I couldn't join too. It's not like I would have gotten myself killed. It's a factory for Christ's sake!" She barked, flailing her arms about as she spun around in the office chair she was sitting in.
"What's it gonna do? Grow a ******** body and attack back!? That's as unlikely as the God damn pollution going away!"

The Bible was then raised behind Kelly, which then slammed onto the top of her head with a loud crack.
"Enough!" Irish barked, his eye twitching.

"This is a live feed of an actual mission. Something you have had CLEAR trouble ever succeeding in." he said, looking down at her.  

[Randomly Gone Insane]

"CLEAR trouble? It's a factory, you old b*****d!" Kelly barked, turning around to glare at her father. Amazingly enough, despite the hit, she didn't bother trying to rub her head. Her head had been hit so many times it was like a rock when any other person tried hitting there. Now the Bible only brought an annoying stinging sensation.
"What possible trouble could a factory bring me?!"

"It's not the factory, it's the people ATTACKING the damn factory ya little Hellspawn!"  

[Randomly Gone Insane]

"Yeah? And what about them? Didn't you say I'd be attacking too?"  

[Zahzi]

"Yeah, but then I saw who was your backup and immediately knew something was up!"

"Does it even matter that Jarid's going to be there?" Kelly asked as she rolled her eyes, clearly not caring.
"Poor guy is lucky to get a mission."
