After the whole Pat Robertson thing started up, it got me thinking to the communication of deities. Is it possible to actually, slightly, debunk a few beliefs by cutting of the theory of spiritual communication?
Let me explain... Say you get three people who all believe in a religion, Christian can work. Now then, all three of these people claim to have a clear and open communication with their lord and such lord tells them what is right and wrong. To show this, I will have The Investigator, Guy 1, Guy 2, and Guy 3 demonstrate this.
I: Ello there you three.
G 1: Nice to meet you.
G 2: Hello.
G 3: How are you?
I: Now then, you all claim to have a full connection of a deity?
G 1,2, & 3: Yes, Jesus to be exact.
I: Mhm, well he must tell you a lot about like and what is right and wrong.
Guy 2: Why yes, just the other day I spoke with Jesus about abortion and he is actually pro abortion. It is e-
Guy 1: W-wait wait wait, Jesus is NOT for pro abortion. Jesus wants every life to live as it was intended.
Guy 3: Actually, Jesus is alright with abortion under circumanstanc-
Guy 1: No, no no...Jesus hates abortion.
Investigator: Awkward, I thought you all had an open connection with Jesus.
Guy 1, 2, & 3: I do, and I know.
Investigator: Hhhmm... I KNOW! You all said you had a full connection with him, yes? Why not just ask him right now?
Guy 1, 2, & 3: Fine.
* Moments of praying later... *
Guy 1: Jesus spoke to me. He is against abortion.
Guy 2: No, I just got an answer and he is pro abortion.
Guy 3: I also spoke with Jesus and he is ok with it but still slightly iffy with the ide-
Guy 2: I JUST stopped speaking with him and he told me, 100%, that he was against abortion by all odds.
Investigator: This shouldn't be so hard. You all should have contact with the same person so he shouldn't have different answers.
Understand my point now? I'm not exactly sure if this is full-proof or is well enough to work but I just thought I should share considering I had the idea.
