Was coming home the other day and I noticed someone holding up a protest sign, it said "Pray to end abortion." and it got me thinking, could prayer really end something like this or are the people too caught up in a symbolic feel good measure that does s**t that's so much easier than trying to work to end the circumstances that lead people to take up abortion?

It's far from an easy choice (never been in that position, have briefly flirted with the idea of getting myself sterilized but is not necessary with me) but it's still one that has consequences mainly for one party and not the other.

Besides, where is the line between birth control and abortion really since women have been obstructed by pharmacists who feel that morning after pills and the like are abortive in nature?

I wonder what would happen if I made a snappy atheist sign and flashed into traffic or went behind the anti-abortion lady with a sign that said something like "WORK to end the need for abortion" Somehow I think I'd quickly end up banned for tolling IRL. Or it'd probably come back to haunt me in my job search efforts....

wow, I would have to walk up to the guy and punch him in the face.
the two biggest things I hate: religious nuts and idiots that think all life is somehow "special"

I could have either killed him or put up a sign behind him saying

"Yea, because praying has worked so well in the past!

Don't you all remember how it was praying that killed Hitler?"

Well some of my friends say that prayer does work
I tell them to look up the Placebo Effect

it's funny how people think that god allows bad things to happen because he has a reason to do so, but they still believe that if they ask him to not let bad things happen, he will just drop everything to solve your or someone else's immediate problems.

Well of course
He's all knowing you see
So even though he already knows you don't like it, if you say please he might not do it

What's crazy are those Christian right-wing groups who go around praying for people like Obama and Democrats to die.

If they want abortion gone, they need prayer gone too.
Mostly because the two have similar causes.
Both make things easier.
One less mouth to feed, and the other grants wishes.
However, it is easy to say they are both evil.
You could tell me abortion is a sin.
I could tell you prayer is actually witchcraft and should be taboo in my Belief System. ( If I was religious. )

I just want to find the person and ask him why abortion should be gone, if it has any benefits, and why it exists if God made 'such a perfect world'.
