I dunno, my real ocarina has been pretty underwhelming. Kind of nicer to look at than it is to play. But hey, it's a Songbird, I guess that's to be expected. I got it from my grandma for Christmas, so I guess I should just consider myself lucky to have gotten the Zelda one.

I'm getting an iPod Touch this weekend. This sounds like an app I would like.

The iPod Touch doesn't have the microphone that you blow into the make it play more authentically. Which is funny because half the time the microphone stops working halfway through my playing, I can switch to iPod Touch mode, but then I feel like I'm missing out. xD So maybe not having that option might make things easier and less frustrating. =P
